  1. A modest Microsoft proposal... on Gnome Hackers Sorting Out Differences RE:2.0 · · Score: 1

We don't need another hero(can you hear Tina Turner?) Join the communist revolution and become ONE with MSoft. Together we stand devided we fall. Help crush this democratic software by not supporting it and spreading lies. They don't allow any user input, just coder dictorialship. When was the last time YOU were in charge. At MSoft, YOU ARE. Really folks do I have to tell you the truth? Like electricity, the FLOW of money creates money. You take money out of software and you won't be able to perpetuate your pipe dreams...because you'll starve or crash the economy. With that said, we could eat the people of GNOME and LINUX for food to solve our economic peril.

  2. No Clinton in White House so news is slow i see on Protein Music · · Score: 1

metamath.org has something similar to this with math proofs if you don't want to put SlowJava on your pc. I'm sure Slashy-D mentioned this somewhere... I just don't care to search... morning time... can't see computer... falling into stream of consciouseness...and loose spelling

  3. switching hard drives won't be "easy" on The Pentagon Discovers dd · · Score: 1

Old mother boards won't see today's 8 gig and up drives, so wouldn't it be better to use these computers for trash? Recycle a computer? Let's worry about recycling more important things right now such as natural resources and our culture. Let the govt. sell this this "junk" to people who want to make clusters and buy the schools new computers. Wow, that was hard!

  4. laser discs and some IEEE Spectrum props on An End-Run Around Region-Free DVD Players · · Score: 1

apparently, I and don't know any mind-cluttering nerd numbers, LaserDiscs are "better" quality format than current DVDs. An "analogy" would be CD to MP3.Obviosly thier physical size is bigger than today's standard. I believe thier sound quality was better too. But if your interested in sound, read last month's IEEE Spectrum containing an article on how 2 virtual speakers are better than 6.

  5. I'm glad M$ can battle the government. on The Return of Microsoft · · Score: 1

Because, I can't... And although Bill Gates has turned to the Dark Side, some (builder-refused) Jedi will destroy the Emperor(P. Allen) and turn Gates back. Meanwhile, the Ewoks(that's you linux people(cute, I know)),are so close to destroying the shield generator. Keep it up. Look for some support to be comming soon.

  6. Try this... on NVidia Vs. Intel: Fight To Come? · · Score: 1

..."with the [ECONOMY'S RECENT COLLAPSE](instead of "AMD's recent success"), "that doesn't seem so likely." I think you'll find it fits a bit better. No, seriously, I dislike Intel's BS as much as the next nerd. And AMD has dark-horsed its way up to the head of the class, but Intel gave it to them last year with all their miscalculations(and every level). AMD just picked up the fumble.

  7. Or put fuel cells on every block on The Fiber Age Meets The Power Grid · · Score: 1

As Bill Maher said, "Don't feel sorry for the Californians, they can get power all day long from the sun." Really though, get your neighborhood together, have a meeting and just buy a fuel cell about the size of a semi's trailer, and start saving money. Have the local Boy Scout troop be put in charge of restocking the H2... Forget those darn power cords that the power company want you to suckle milky electrons through and be indie.

  8. Nintendo should know better... 10 yrs. for color? on Nintendo Gameboy Advance, In Advance · · Score: 1

They do, because every kid will beg their parents for GBA and as a result increase becoming accustomed to medocre game expressions. Let's face it the GBA is a rather unexciting piece. First, the screen is way too small and come to think about, I'd only by a black one if forced to do so. Maybe a black one would help improve the poor screen contrast simillar to black bands above and below home theatre screens. Second, where's the wireless features? But for kids, this probably will shut them up and increase stupidity. LASTLY WHY SO LONG FOR COLOR???

  9. Re:Wrong place to ask on On the Process of Creating a Game... · · Score: 2

agreed, a 60% linux site couldn't answer your question for linux has no good games, and diablo 2 doesn't count cmdr. Taco. Admitedly, no one seems to have good games anymore. (Black and White's a show, but that's about it) How 'bout a consolidated article on open source games?

  10. more on 4 wheel steering... on Gadget-Heavy Trucks For Fun And Mayhem · · Score: 1

Truck manufacturers will soon let this feature become standard on ALL trucks, starting with dualies. They argued back and forth, not quite sure if women would be able to drive them(no joke). While I don't know what women have to do with steering, lots of construction vehicles have four wheel steering. It takes about two minutes to figure out how to get good. Remembering to align all wheels helps the transport go straight.

  11. Don't wake up during a rem sleep pattern on Recepies For A Good Night's Sleep? · · Score: 2

Most people forget that that every 90 minutes(generally) of sleep a person starts a new period of rem sleep. If you go to sleep at 12:00 pm, it's better to wake up at 6:00am then 7:00am(the middle of the 5th rem sleep period). Now you need to figure out the duration of your specific rem cycle(because it CAN vary from 30 to 90 min), by going to bed at the same time and waking up at different times and recording the results. Groggyness felt in the morning is do to the fact that your motor skills have been shut down during rem and they need to be rebooted. Get up and start walking around instead of lying around and snoozing in bed. This will activate your motor skill program and alliviate that groggy feeling. If you just remember that fact then waking up's like CS 101. BTW, apples in the morning work better then caffine.

doesn't radition also promote good mutation? (let the antitrolls click "reply" now.) Without constant radiation from the sun god RA, that comes out once a day, there would infact exist no dorks, nerds or linui-ennui or ballzheys. Cell phones and mr. yellow-hot are microwaving and synthesizing your offspring along in a good vs. evil, survivor2 fashion to defeat Digi-Cell, the half n' half(cream and milk) bioclone /(dot) pc thing. Is is a clone or is it MEMmorex? I just don't know. PS. If we just bounce all of the information we have all day long in the air then what would eventually happen? Think before you dork.

  15. answer? "the real CS" on Computer Science vs. Computer Engineering? · · Score: 1

The answer is "the real CS"(cognitive sciences). CS(again cognitive science) is multidisciplined and you'll encounter neuroscience, the other CS, EE, PSY, plus whatever they(labcoats) figure out to be on the same path as to complete THE GOAL. THE GOAL(i'm not shouting): automata. CogSci majors get to specialize in any of the above mentioned fields. But the goal(2nd one) is not to be specialized. You'll figure this out soon enough.
