I had fits about Helms Deep becasue...
    1. There was no need to bring the Women and children.
    2. Eomer had 1 platoon... where did the fucking army come from?
    3. HURONS HURONS HURONS.

I had fits about the Ents becasuse the whole "tricking Fangorn" thing was about as dumb as anything in the whole world. That's like pulling a fast one on Gandalf... not going to happen.

I had REAL fits about Faramir.

I had a fucking sezuire when Frodo showed the ring to the Nazgul in the end of TTT. That the end of story. Nazgul senses ring near Gonor he invades right f'n now. No stealth, no shelob, no nothing, everyone dies right fucking now.

    WHAT I HATED THE MOST...

It was a great movie with horrible editing brough on by Jackson's hubris. He came to belive his own bullshit and lost the Tao. That's why it sucked.

What made the 1st movie not just tolerable but good despite plot changes was that he had an idea. "The ring tests the members of the company." That's why the movie retained coherence in the face of massive complexity. This movie sucked because he didn't know what to do. If you really think about TTT it is "The meek recruit the strong." Merry and Pippen recruit the Ent by being polite. Frodo recruits Golem by being kind, Pippen recruits Denethor by being brave, and Sam and Frodo recruit Faramir by being true. Jackson lost the Tao of this movie and without that life line bent over for the studio execs or worse just began to believe his own bullshit. (A sin considering Heavenly Creatures, a movie about NOT believing your own bullshit.) Faramir was boring? My ASS!

I will give you props for the Abyss comment. Without the full edition it was un-understandable to the average Joe. I really didn't get it (despite liking it) until I read Orson Scott Card's excellent novelization.

The problem with TTT is that it's too long, and breaks the plot FOR NO REASON. I could Phantom Edit this movie to sub two hours and make it a great film, as it stands it suck and I'm sure another hour or two will make it suck FAR worse.

    Rapeseed 13.1 MMT

So domestic veg oil equals soybean oil, not much palm or rape in the US.

    >First, I would argue both that we are >NOT "converting farmland... to forest" in any >significant quantity, and also that any >resulting "managed" forest is no better than >farmland with respect to environmental factors.

Ok here you are just flat wrong. The US is the only country in the world that is converting farmland back into forest. That's why Bush wanted to get carbon tax credit.

You are right that it is managed forest but saying that "any resulting 'managed' forest is no better than farmland with respect to environmental factors" is insane. I grew up on a tree farm that used to be a dairy farm. Our tree farm is a managed forest that produces cottonwood, oak, ash, Douglas fir, yew, cedar, and western white pine and is not a monoculture, uses local genetics, and uses treated sewage for fertilizer. We improve riparian and sylvan habitat and generally kick ass.

    >Well, I couldn't find any place where they claimed that!

Keep reading. It heats water, resulting in steam, which when condensed or cooled is distilled water. The solids generated by the process (they claim) are a balanced organic fertilizer.

You say the process is "water intensive" but all the water is recovered from the process. Also you claim the process is "lots of heat and pressure" but lots in this case is relative. Geological heat and pressure vs. industrial. Yes it high heat and pressure compared to room temp. but low heat compared to other processes currently used to dispose of biological wastes.

Your only real objection here is "Just don't tell me it can't be done, or I'll have to un-drive all those miles I've driven, powered by waste vegetable oil!" This can be reduced to cognitive dissonance, because you have invested a great deal of time and effort into and idea, you are unwilling to believe that it can be flawed. Bio-diesel is a good idea but it would not work if scaled to mass use. There isn't enough cooking waste oil in the use to power our cars. CWT's process works because it draws from a MUCH larger pool of resources, e.g. all the pig shit, cow shit, tires, human shit, ag waste in the US.

A far better option seem to be CWT
These guy say they can change any carbon into distilled water, balanced organic fertilizer and gasoline. This also has the benefit of getting rid of biohazard waste and increases topsoil rather than depleting it.

Yes. Without a doubt supporting pirates is far better than supporting Disney.

Disney is guilty of undermining the constitution by extending copyright past any reasonable level. The founders were far more interested in works of intellectual property penetrating the society than they were in protecting the profit margin of the author. The original was only 7 years, later extended to 14 then doubled to support the widows of authors. But Disney is not an individual and therefor should not be protected in the same way as a human being. Corporations should in fact get less protection because they have the benefit of limited liability.

This country was founded to fight the concept of oligarchy, Disney is in effect creating oligarchs of intellectual property through their abuse of the legislative branch of government. If you can buy a senator you can piss on anybody you want.

Just like the Boston tea Party we are obliged to actively resist policy that undermines our individual rights and freedoms. Disney is attacking our freedoms in an attempt to keep their profit base beyond any reasonable time frame. If Walt was still alive and near starvation I would have no problem giving him a few year extension so he could buy some viagra, but Walt's dead and his dependants aren't starving so fuck em.

My right to the public domain far exceeds Disney's false and ignoble manipulations of the law to protect their profit on 70-year-old scribbles on a napkin. Mickey Mouse IS A PART OF THE AMERICAN PUBLIC DOMAIN, just as much as apple pie and the old red white and blue and should be treated as such. If they think they can exclusively turn a profit on this till the end of time they are attacking the concept of America just as much as Bin Laden does, make no mistake.

A free and open society is dependant on the free use of ideas that are intergrated into it. We have paid out dues for Mickey 100 times over and he is ours, not the shareholder's, not the artist's, not the fucking CEO's, only the American individual citizen.
