That remark indicates that in fact you hardly ever use Netscape under Unix. Everyone, and I mean everyone, knows that Netscape under unix totally sucks. It crashes and hangs all the time, often requiring a healthy kill -9; it uses ungodly amounts of virtual memory; it's slow; it reloads the page whenever you change the dimensions of its window; forget using Java; javascript is unstable -- and the list goes on.

It was a necessary evil until Konqui became usable. Now there's no reason to go back.

We finally bagged crappy tomcat and switched to Resin. My god: it was like switching from dreid lentils to yummy ice craem. Takes all of 30 seconds to install, it's been completely reliable, easy to configure, even SSL worls great!! And the best thing is: it's fast as hell. We did benchmarks. Beats every servlet engine, and best of all, is much much faster than PHP or mod_perl. Try it!

Please tell me your're not and that you've just learned English.

Why are you unable to make any sense in your post? For that matter, why is your grammar so awful, your spelling disastrous, your thinking muddled and chaotic? And the .sig -- exactly what does it mean? Can it be true, that you're sentimentally attached to the Pentium Pro despite the fact that a modern PIII is much faster?

At any rate, you confirm a suspicion of mine: that gun-loving, commie-bashing weirdos are mostly found among the least educated, stupidest sectors of our society.

Microsoft has been saying this for a while -- people want the flexibility og a general purpose computer. Naturally this argument is self-serving for M$, but at the cost points in question, it's irrefutable.

As has been said repeatedly in this discussion, the issue is price-point. Palms don't cost as much as laptops, so they sell. High-end WinCE devices (with keyboards and larger screens) dont' sell becuuse they're in the same price range as low-end laptops, which are much more useful.

"whom" is a historical accident, the remainder of the accusative case (not otherwise used in English) inherited from Anglo-Saxon. As such, it is correctly used in situations of transitivity -- which means that your first sentence is wrong. You should have written: And who watches those who watch the grammar watchers?

You can use the fantastic kdevelop, which now comes bundled with KDE 2.1, and QT designer, a GUI design tool. The combo works very well. Reminds me of MS Visual Studio... but better.

Absolutely false. In fact, right-wing republicans proposed the constitutional amendment ratifying an income tax thinking it would never pass. Shock horror all the states ratified it -- classic case of what here in Italy we call autogol, the kicking of the ball into one's own goal.

Now tell me, how quickly will this thread head off-topic?

But I really want to know: do you love my English? I've been studying it for many years now. If I make a mistake, please alert me. I'll correct it. I'm very obsessive about these things. It's gorgeous here in Sardinia -- I'm on vacation, dreaming up my next book --

Ah, taxes. Do you you that a century ago in America it was your farmers who demanded taxes on the rich? Times so change. Now neo-peasants like Eric Raymond want to abolish taxes. In Italy we'd say zitto, stronzo and tax his guns.

The sun's going down, I can't see the screen, time for dinner.
