I was never able to get the hang of the cube, but this this guy sure did. His web site has more info.. but the video is the coolest part. FYI need quicktime to watch the video.
Have you (or anybody) tried the other VR solutions that are not 3d? I was thinking about picking up some i-glasses http://www.i-glassesstore.com/ but with prices up to a grand.. it's a tough call. Thoughts on this folks?

Currently, if you want gaming, you need a windows box. Yes Quake 3 may play very well under linux, or your version of WINE might be great, but in the end... your going to need a windows box to play.
We are too. I was the hosting admin for my computer and loved having exodus. We recently moved when their stock dropped out. We didn't move because of the service, but politics. Our customers know that we use exodus, see this news, and get scared and run to our competitors. Kind of lame from the techie sit to risk a move like this, but from 'upper management' it makes sense!
I have a nice TuxTop that is PIII 850 16meg video 256meg RAM that I use for gaming. I think lugging a monitor around is what is going to weigh you down.
or did anybody else have to read that paragraph 3 times to get it? Maybe it's the beer but... oh wait.. yep, it's the beer.

Ever so slight correction, I grew up in Manchester and now live in Bedford. Dean Kamen lives in Bedford, but does work in Manchester.
That is.. so cool. I need to buy things from this man.
Main Street? I thought it was Elm street in NH. All the 'kids' used to cruise up and down Elm for that reason I thought.
This is a very good fiction book that deals with this. Except the AI built into the nano's gets a little out of hand. A very good book.

I dig linux for many things, just not gaming.
