For example, common voters, without any insider privileges, can cast unlimited votes without being detected by any mechanisms within the voting terminal....we can all cast our votes for Linus.
It's probably been mentioned, but what about companies that have a single or multiple CLass "A"s that could just NAT? I was at a Ford dealership recently and noticed that they had a printer on a public address. Now it was probably NAT'd behind a router, but 5h1t! NAT an RFC 1918 address, not a public one!
We tend to forget that: 1. Just because it's not found on the Internet, does not mean that it doesn't exist. 2. Just because it's found on the Internet, does not necessarily make it true.
It's not the Osamas or the Al Qaeda operatives that are the concern here. I think the real threat to DOHS's security infrastructure are the numerous folks out there within the good ol' US of A, that aren't necessarily in support of what they might consider the prelude to a police state, i.e., the DOHS. I would suspect that that latter catagory boasts a large cadre of 1337 skillsets.
Yes, Bach composed from a different realm that most of us will never know. But is creative genius affected here or a more digit-headed cerebral genius? Right brain vs. left brain kinda stuff.
Independant hopefull Kevin Mitnick was elected President of the 2004 elections.
The "good cop, bad cop" strategy. Those guys are just too much...
Save everything you're making off this scam buddy boy. I hear that buying protection in the pen is getting expensive these days....
Disnix. It takes the best from Yellow Dog (Old Yeller), Tux gets mouse ears, and the man pages have been dumbed-down and are narrated by Roger Rabbit.
Alright, I'll stop.
Should we trust the GPS? :-)
I agree.
Darl, this is Bubba. Bubba, this is Darl McBride, your new bit^H^H^H, I mean, cellmate.

Even *nix is affected ny this. I suppose a PKI infrastructure and passwds (shadow - MD5 of course). Maybe it's time for the chip implant.

All you need to do is disable telnet in inetd, right?
If they can't log in, you're fine.... Matthew Broderick would have never been asked to "play a Game" if they'd just locked down telnet.

What about the 169.254/16 that Uncle Bill uses for people that can't config their own IP's (dummy net)\

Q: "What UnixWare are you running?"
A: "I really don't want to concern myself with what UnixWare."

I have an original Palm Pilot. I should probably upgrade that some day.
I agree. My logs are full of SQL Slammer crap too. It just adds to the flavor of White Noise I see on my IDS.
Happy birthdaaay, you little slackerhead.....
Or is it safe to say that you can block all traffic *to* the device, but allow forwarding IAW your standard set of acls?
Personally, I prefer minicom from an SSH box for management of routers and the like.
