If you take 2 identic fans, they make +/- the same noise. Now can't this be used to dampen the noise (use the second fan to create anti-noise?) It would need some software-controlled feedback, but hey, that's the fun part:).
I think NASA should try to contact every spacecraft thats ever been launched
That would be a nice project. Make an inventory of all the stuff we planted on Mars/the moon and the working parts.
As for robots, I guess the motors etc. are working fine, so why not send a 'cannibal/Borg' probe to recover these parts? Considering the price of getting something there, this is valuable equipment! It would be hacking in the purest sense of the word, of course.
BTW, what is the status of the Mars rover? Is it still working? (does anyone have a link?)
I have a similar desk, and I also added power sockets at the bottom of the tabletop. That's something worth installing because you're always short of them.
You can also provide extension-cables for network/usb/rs232, if you don't enjoy crawling under your desk.
Ive had this thought..

What do you people think?
I sure hope his rocket is a bit more robust than his website..

Some people just enjoy it more than playing a racing game. It's fun, too.
