    Idea one: use knoppix, you can boot it from cd and use an usb-stick to store your homedir.

    Idea two: buy a harddrive. A 20 Gig HD is probably the same price as a 1 Gig usb-stick.

    just charging 2000 $ wont stop the spam problem, when someone is caught spamming the domain has to be dropped.

    then again, why cant we drop .com, .net, .org or any other domain name when a spammer is caught?

    you really want to use it via https, if thats not yet implemented in the client they should do it

    Who is destroying anything? These Geeks just enjoy finding these Networks and use them maybe for a bit websurfing. The real dangers are to come.

    And WLAN isnt destroyed, as much as i know, you can secure a WLAN properly.

    But there are open WLANs wich can be easily hacked by crackers. You wont change anything by keeping silent about this.

    ... and when i hear this i am glad that i dont live there. Is it really that way over there? Here in germany (and other european countries also) its not that easy to cut wages, i have never heard anything like that before. Maybe its because there are contracts between the unions and the federation of employers wich regulate the wages. Even if the employees would accept less money, the unions would almost certainly not.

    What have you done over there during the 1980s?
    And you cant fire employees from one day to another. Are we that socialistic?

    But the rules of physics changed often during the centuries. Couldnt it happen again. Someone could come up with something much more sophisticated then quantum mechanics, a new model wich would allow to crack quantum mechanics. The end of physics isnt here yet.

    Read the article, it says something different:

    Over short distances on the ground, quantum cryptography will be much simpler and cheaper. Wireless optical communication systems that span up to five miles are already in use as voice and data networks linking businesses, hospitals, and university campuses. It would be easy to add single-photon encryption to these systems, Hughes says.

    Where not there yet, but maybe in 10 years you can get optical ethernet cards with quantum cryptograhy onboard everywhere cheap.
