the end
The roms of [mame.dk] was removed 3
days ago. [mame.dk] has received a notice
from a copyright holder forcing us to shut
down our service.
We are sorry for keeping you in the dark
for a few days, but we used the weekend
to discuss how to handle this sad incident,
trying to develop new ideas on how to
provide our old service. The conclusion is
unfortunatly: no rom downloads.
[mame.dk] is a hobby project, and we do
not want to put our personal economy in
jeopardy on this, and we do NOT want to
go into legal matters. The [mame.dk]
project has grown rather large lately, and
despite many and generous donations, we
had to throw in the banners to pay for
bandwidth costs at the last release. So
maybe we just got too popular.
We will continue to provide the database
services at [mame.dk], as well as the
supporting files (emulator mirror,
screenshots, artwork, samples etc.), and
we will consider adding new "features" to
the system.
Kind regards, the [mame.dk] team

Just yesterday the US government tried to remove the FCC from the decision process with respect to mega media corp mergers. Why?
1) giant media companies need FCC approval prior to mergers.
2) The FCC tends to be very critical of such moves.
3) The only remaining regulation is the DOJ and any mega media company can own that as long as the president gets some nice toys for being good.
Was this on TV? No. Why? What mega media company would cover their own dirt? *think* Maybe the problem is already showing:)
It was on NPR though. Dirty politics at its best. I wonder which elected people put a stop to it.
They served their country well. Even while on recess.
If anyone has a link to the details please share it. I just heard it while driving around town.

Once a year I take a power washer to my keyboards. Takes a day or so to dry out. no big deal. They work better without the cat hair and pizza crumbs.

I don't buy this logic. Sometimes the law is just wrong.
Language should not be an issue for legal property outside of specific brands in specific markets.
The idea that languages can be owned means languages will die instead of morphing as usual.
language is a public domain tool for lawyers as well as the rest of us.
Why else would court precedence be public domain?
If code is not speech then what is this?
CNBC ran the rumor earlier today. They later said both corl and rhat denied there are any talks. Put this one under urban legend.
