  1. Re:Yngwie Malmsteen and Jens Johansson and Bach on 'Electrohippies' Protest WTO · · Score: 1

Genious?! You've got to be kidding me... anybody with too much practice could play as cold and fast as him. He may be fast, but his rhythm structures are whacked, they show no understanding of the true nature of the nuances of volume of fluid time structures. Not to mention the fact that using augmented and minor chords over and over doesn't make "classical music". He does nothing more than go thru classical-like progressions with that shred crap. It's embarrasing and quite gay. Besides the lead guitarist from Cannibal Corpse would eat his ass out for breakfast, if you are looking for speed. Putting Malmsteen on the level of Bach or Beethoven is ludicrous. I admit that I find some of their compositions mundane, but at least they evoke some sense of the ephemeral emotions and archetypal scenes that classical music is intended to invoke. Going thru some chords and shredding scales fast, does NOT make you a viable contender in that arena.

The security model of the current system not only accounts for the fact that a computer system can always be broken into, but it relies on it. If a "licensing" system is put into place now, how long will it take before someone figures out how to completely take control of someone's identity.

I think the internet was not designed on the scale of "a way of life", it's simply a tool. When the time comes that the internet (or something like it) is woven into the fabric and or dictates more crucial aspects of our life, there should be some kind of licensing system so that people can be help accountable for damage. (Say cracking into someones GPS and crashing thier car) Now it's not practical, reliable or nessecary to do so.

I'm pretty sure in the past it has been there policy to hide themselves. Now that they realize they can't hide any longer, they are trying to make themselves seem like a toy store.

Uhhhg!!! The Gimp OWNS Adobe Photoshop!!! If you audit the features of the two (with a standard install of the newest version of each) you'll see the gimp has way more features, scripting support and loads of other things you have to fork out the dough for ps. I've just been using GCC to most of my C code,

I think they should because my company throws away
HP9000 equipment all the damn time. It costs more
