Perhaps one of those nifty (wireless, perhaps?) controllers with a left and right button that bases motion on tilt? IE a gyroscopic sort of system wherein the pointer motion is controlled by pitch. This technology exist in remote controls; has anybody seen it? - THIS IS PRE-ALPHA PRIVATE RELEASE CODE!!! DO NOT USE IT UNLESS YOU ARE A DEVELOPER. ALL IT DOES IS CRASH!
Now I don't mean to talk about nuclear war with anyone, but Iraq may eventually warrant it. Of course, importing narcotics from Cuba would be wrong, but one needs to avoid the government policies trying to prevent illegal action. I suggest we reveal our secrets to the chinese while purchasing arms for a mighty uprising against Democracy. - THIS IS PRE-ALPHA PRIVATE RELEASE CODE!!! DO NOT USE IT UNLESS YOU ARE A DEVELOPER. You folks have been around for so long, surely you've seen the evolution of both terms. Are you quick to take a stand on misuse of either, or do you just take it all in stride? Some of the older security folks out there are damned sure that "hacking" is still purely malicious, and "Cracking" simply means breaking software registrations and the like. What do you feel each term represents these days? - "In the flesh, on the phone and in your account.... You shouldn't have called you know."
Although I must praise the q3 network code (much as any quake*), I have noticed a terrible problem with weapons in a moderate lag environment. On a decent server over a 56k modem, weapon response time is terrible. The client side weapon effects are fine, but environment impact (bullet marks, rocket blasts, rail shots, etc...) is delayed a *lot*. The shotgun may be the most noticeable, but the fact is railgun firing needs to be deadly fast in order to be effective. Is this a known problem, or something that I should just accept? - "In the flesh, on the phone and in your account.... You shouldn't have called you know."
as opposed to wesley crusher, that adorable little whelp who can do no wrong?
*snicker*
Jake is many times more likeable than him, although Nog has always been the #1 trek child in my experience. DS9's high quality model driven special effects outweigh voyagers despicable computer generated ones. Of course, I suppose it'll always be kirk for you, eh?
Thats not too subtle, people could barely AVOID reading it. Come on, don't do that to people who haven't gotten a chance to see it yet.

"What about fighting back and using weapons to defend your house and family?"
I know that as soon as Y2K hits and all the computers blow up, I'm going to want a gun for fighting off the evil rioters and looters in this rural town. But then, I'm just a little old house wife who is supposed to be scared and concerned enough to buy a bad book.
