  1. Re:Ummm on Cell Phone Radiation Excites the Brain · · Score: 1

One problem is that the person on the other end of the conversation can't see what is happening. If you are talking to your girlfriend/boyfriend in the car and something happens that requires your full attention, then they can stop immediately. The person on the other end of the phone can't anticipate that situation.

  3. Re:Why Perth? on Linux Conference Australia Write-Up · · Score: 5, Informative

Simply because Perth was the next city on the list - previously it had been at (from my some what dulled memory):
    1. Melbourne
    2. Sydney
    3. Brisbane

and next year it will be in Adelaide.

Believe me, I would have gone except it was on the otherside of the country but I'm sure there are many geeks in WA who would like to come to the east coast conf. and can't for the same reason.

I'm looking forward to going to the one in Adelaide next year as its a little closer...

  4. Re:What about Aegis? on Designing a New Version Control System? · · Score: 1

    Aegis rocks!
We use aegis at work and it has improved the baseline code immeasurably. Everything that goes into the baseline is reviewed by some one else and you always have a working set in the baseline.
So when the boss comes in and says show me what you have done, we can do it immediately.
It uses cook instead of make because of makes inherent recursive build problems.
It can be automatically set up to regression testing against the baseline whenever a new change is submitted. It also handles branching and merging with ease.
Get it, install it and watch your code improve!
