Hmmn.... In _our_ (UK) recent census I could and did put Jedi simply because there was a specific exception for question ten from the legal requirements which apply to the other questions.
It's just that it's in the unstable branch since KDE has only recently been packaged up for Debian, since until recently KDE was not Free enough for Debian's policies.
So, down the line KDE will appear in Debian stable, but only after any emerging package issues are sorted.

It does (see http://packages.debian.org/unstable/x11/)!

i) OS doesn't mean that every joe can hack on it, just that the source-code is made available with the product so that the customer has access and rights to it. If specifically medical applications (i.e. patient records s/w) was OSS, it would still be niche market, and hence in reality developed by companies selling the package.
ii) Original article is about GNU/Linux and free s/w in general being useable by medical institutions. Stuff like Linux and StarOffice.
I've two 21"ers at work (both Sony520GS - okay, but you can prob. buy better now), currently setup side-by-side but for different boxes.
However, in a month or so I'll be moving two hundred miles away, working from home and hooking them up to my G400 dual-head and Cybex SwitchView, so I'll have both a humungous desktop and access to multiple boxes. <BFG>
BTW, my G400 currently has a 21" and a 15" dangling off of it, which is okay under W98 and X, but W2K can't handle it. Matrox blame the HAL and we all have to hope for Whistler to get it right:(

Cheers for the link. I've just spoken to them and Operator Daniel said that the previous call was also regarding the CDC-MP3. They get about 10 (?) calls a day.
Anyhow, he also said that the problem is that they've not got enough service personel trained in repairing in-car MP3 players, but they would *probably* be prepared and release *later* in the year.
If Yank sites discriminate against IP addresses outside the States (for enforcement of draconian crypto laws), the BBC could provide content free into the UK and chargeably elsewhere.

which is really '£' blah, blah
Am I the only one who goes for:
C# == see hash
Can anyone tell me where # == hash comes from?
If I had mod points I'd rate this funny.
Whoever madded this down: laugh
You presumeably meant kow-towing - meaning servile deference - rather than cow-toeing which seems to bear rather more offbeat connotations.
Lopster falls outside of the review's "must have a Win32 port" remit.
But, yes Lopster is the best Linux OpenNap client.
There should also be a moderation option for '+1 Good sig' :)

Of course they'll mod my response down.

Er, they're here already.

Nope. _That's_ subjective opinion. Some UKians find some US comedy amusing/funny and vice versa. S'all.

<joke>Hell no</joke>, and I'm the reader who posted the (somewhat overblown, but now trimmed down and non-attributed (harrumph)) submission.
Shocking idea. Just where do you think you are, expecting people to read the original article.

Surely:
It's like a food review ate a book critic.

Okay, should've checked that the NT5 settings had the same effect as on NT4. They don't. They're okay. Hrmph.

But not quite the same. It substitues the whole, absolute path rather than just completing the local, relative path.

An anti-religious take is still merely a take.
More to the point: if you believe in a caring personal deity, prayer tends to have a calming, meditative thing going for it.
This would tend to allow room for some perspective/distance to creep in.
Eff-all use to an atheist? Maybe; unless the Divine chooses a bit of co-incidental revelation... {8{)}
