In areas with bad or no cable TV service, Dish Network and DirecTV can be your only option. Dish has these channel dropping problems because they hold the line on price, refusing to pay up for overpriced channels. In the case of Fox, Rupert controls both the channel and the delivery service so Fox-branded channels will most likely never go down on DirecTV... but that causes DirecTV to cost more.
If you can't handle the loss of your favorite channel, then you don't want Dish, you want DirecTV or a cable service.
How exactly do you drive more dangerously because of a red light camera???
Instead of running a red light when the driver didn't see the yellow in time, the driver is tempted to pull a sudden stop that leads to brake damage and increases the risk of a following driver not assessing the scene fast enough leading to a rear-end collision, which pushes the car into the red light zone.
I dated a girl in Syracuse in 2000 where we were kissing in front of as many cameras as possible, and noticed it was not as complete a record as a constant DVR at that time. Such a system was proposed but rejected. Police supported us and we did get a photo taken by a red light camera, but that trick was hard to pull off. (I ended up not getting a fine, the Syracuse court system was in on the joke.)
Yep... they replaced the running a red light problem with sudden stops and rear end incidents. No safety improvement, just a better chance of issuing fines. Seems like this kind of ticket deserves some SCotUS rulings.
You can't do this Chicago... you can't break a federal law to issue tickets in the invalid yellow light zone. What went wrong? Why are you money grubbing? Maybe its time to move the CMX!
Windows at a POS gives the employees of an empty store a lot of entertainment options, but it also causes problems when malware gets bundled with the hot new app of the moment. So, it looks like Staples should invest in a new POS system that is better locked-down. If malware is showing up on your task lists, you at least need a format and reinstall to be sure you're safe.
Tor is easily identifiable as "You came from Tor!" even when it tries to hide your identity. Small places can identify you as "My one user who uses Tor..." and large places can say "That's Tor... NO SOUP FOR YOU!". So Tor has always had that problem, your messages travel the Internet, but the WWW refuses to give you service.
Ham radio started falling apart when cell phones that could connect to PBXs for conference calls became popular... Looks like they're trying to make ham more like cell phone now.
Uhm, little problem with that one. Voyager actually rerunning somewhere?
And parents, if you thought you screened the entire series by watching all seven seasons televised by UPN, you don't know what else is in the syndication package. They shot a lot of extra scenes that didn't make air due to the time constraints.
There occasionally exists a kid-powered Slashdot-like site that's run out of SlashCode and using the extra words to make Sci/Tech stories understandable by the young audience... Hey, you kids with usernames made of six randomly selected characters, are you still here? My neighbors occasionally asked me to appear under my more famous username on such sites.
Yep. When I was a four year old there was a cute girl who was very interested in technology who was in my neighborhood. When adults talk to kids, those things happen.
Is she enrolled in a good preschool? If not, then there's no way for her to study anything beyond what's on in daytime on Nick and Disney Channel (and their spinoffs) and it's too early to figure out what her interests are. Send her to kindergarten next year and see who she meets.
I think it's because FIOS, U-Verse, and Google Fiber all had good years worth of picking up subscribers, so customers want their pages faster and the server-side people didn't upgrade.
If you've ever seen the machines that make money on TV, you know they're made with a process unlike anything that's available to consumers. Copy machine money doesn't look or feel even close.
There needs to be a more secure system for coupons, as right now the barcode doesn't have enough data space to communicate what the offer exactly is. They need to move to 2D style codes such as QR in order to be secure.

You have no copyright... this stuff belongs to the Chris Pine as Kirk team. This can't make any money and will be assimilated into Paramount.
Remember you still have to use a Staples Rewards card to avoid being overcharged with cash.

Anybody up for a game of Texas Hold 'em in protest of this story?
They currently can only sell zero. They'd like to sell at least one. That's a loosening.
General Motors reports Tesla is still dead...
Wicked Early News, do you still exist and want this story?

Just so /. stays readable in China, can we have a list of phrases in English that translate into Chinese puns?

Yeah, which college has a program for training princesses?

Uhm... any fashion designers reading this? "princess look" and "lab worker" are two very different outfits.

Uhm, there's a reason you got modded to -1... there's at least one 4 year old who's going to see this in the morning I think.

Yep, WalMart has no way of tracking Amazon's prices without help from Amazon. Try recoding Amazon-subsidiary Woot's prices and see what happens.
Yep... kids who don't want to play football tend to be suicidal and homicidal on the field... parents should take the blame for that happening.
