So this is exactly why Apple would encrypt their entire phone and did not leave a way for them to decrypt their own devices... so that they can avoid situations like this...
Just because a dude works for the DOJ... that doesn't give him the right to invade and abuse the person's privacy... regardless if he/she is a criminal or not... Just because he was authorized to view the contents of her phone, it doesn't mean he can freely use it out in the open any way he wants....
And it makes me laugh so hard that now the DOJ is saying they have the right to do it... that's just plain ignorant...
Government agencies... time after times after times have abused their privilege to mandate data from US corporations....
Of course I don't have a problem if the police department wants to know what's on a child abductor's phone... but what about those people who legitimately need to be protected? What guarantees do we have that government agencies will not continue using these methods to gain information that have nothing to do with their investigations?
I think living 60 good years is worth a lifetime... then maybe another 10 in retirement to enjoy the "not working" time...
As people age beyond 65... they start having health/personality issues and I dont think I will be any different...
For me, living on is just a burden for my descendants and for this society... At the age of 70... a peaceful ending is probably the most optimal time...
I'm pretty clue-less in this so I'll just ask straight up...
Is it not against the laws in some ways that Comcast does this? What is the Justice Department and the rest of government authorities going to do about it?
I definitely want to automate this... but not automate alone... I would build in some monitoring and notification... such as result of each step summed into an email/SMS report.
I would also use a remote host, to send an alert if the host in maintenance doesn't come back within the expected window....
And of course.. even though I'm not gonna be doing the maintenance activity manually/live, but I would still want to find a proper way to know/confirm that the maintenance window was successful before sleeping all the way through.
I've had this idea in my head since the economy downturn in 2008/2009.....
If we have a federal law that mandates maximum 50hrs of work per week, this will force companies to hire more regardless of their profitability.
I said this because I have couple friends who worked at AMD/Intel/Cisco at the time... they came to my birthday party Sunday noon time, and at 2PM they had to split because they have to get some work done at the office.
I think that's a serious violation taking advantage of employees' resources... they knew the job market was dry, they squeezed every possible drop of juice out of their employees' energy because they knew there was no where else to go.
If US corporate management think more for the general economy than their own corporate interests... we would actually boost economy, people got jobs and have more buying power... it automatically increases service/product demands and we're back in shape. But it's easier said than done.
This guy made a pathetic assumption!!! Just because there are 7.1B people, it doesn't mean there are 7.1B activations.... Out of that population count, there is a very good percentage (I don't know the number) of age 14 and below. And I again don't know the number here, but my guess is 90% of them don't have cell phones....
When you got the job, your boss entrusted you with these privileges. Now that you are the boss, it's your turn to entrust someone else with it. Otherwise you'll never be able to really sit upstairs.
I'm not taking sides here... only looking at things from an objective point of view.
Any company doing honest business should have the privilege to sell anywhere they want, just as long as all common laws are accounted for and taxes are paid in good faith.
Just because Tesla wants to sell its own cars directly to consumers, doesn't mean the violated any laws. I mean if this should be banned, then other manufacturers of other consumer items should be banned too?
Besides, Tesla says "No NJ, no problem!". And that's good for them. Tesla vehicles are the new trend. Consumers are willing to go a bit of extra miles to get it. I would just setup stores near the NJ borders and they just need to cross that border to bring the car back to NJ.
The NJ dealers can't get a piece of business from Tesla and being competed due to the attractive vehicle so they play dirty.
We are not talking about requirements of a franchise dealer here... we're simply talking about not allowing Tesla to sell direct.
NJ is pathetic! The governor is definitely pathetic...
So I understand that lots of stuffs are being copied and developed upon by many Chinese companies....
They copied these things
BMW 7-series car: http://www.chilloutpoint.com/s...
Boeing aircraft: http://gizmodo.com/boing-474-t...
and many more...
But they didn't even have the decency to come up with a name? They have to derive Red Flag from RedHat... WTF???
I'm in similar but slightly different position....
I went to a well-known university but didn't have a chance to finish my degree.
I've been working as an datacenter operations linux system engineer for some 10years now...
I want to move up to management but without a degree it seems to hard.
Additional life pressure has added on... now that I'm married and have a baby.
I still wanna go back to college and get an MIS degree... and hopefully MBA if I still have time after that...
It just seems that after a day of working and dealing with family requirements... there isn't much time left for academic activities... am I just being a lazy ass?

This is only my personal opinion of course...
I would love to see Google/HTC to aim to work with MS to provide a full Office suite for Android on this tablet....
I'm an Apple fan, but I'd like to see competition so that multiple sides of the competition will strive more for the consumers' benefits.
For me... I've converted all my AV contents to mp4 format and have them automatically backed up to iCloud....
I do have a decent amount of storage on my reasonably priced service.... I feel confident that my contents are safe with Apple.
OMG I'm shocked!!!
There's laws in our country that legalized this? What is that law and where can I find some confirmation?
I'm pretty clue-less in this so I'll just ask straight up...

I go to this conference at least once every 2 years https://www.usenix.org/confere...

This is another example of our government officials who speak out in public but have no damn clue what the hell comes out of their mouth.

Has anybody gotten a confirmation whether kernel version 3.x is used in this release?
I read the press release from Redhat site but still didn't see any mention about it.
He ruins our IT/Ops names...
He doesn't deserve the term "Pro"
