I can't tell you how many times someone pointed at the screen saying: "That's the computer" And then pointing at the case (whereever it might be positioned): "This is the harddrive"
They need to know what's what.. =)
Maybe also some kind of guidelines for how to cooperate well when you're being helped by support/child/friend etc...maybe we all want it in different ways though;)
sure they have. But so have many other people that still have to pay taxes.. who should do the ruling on who has done enough for society to don't have to pay taxes?
it aint me, and it aint you, it's the government, that also says that everybody should pay taxes.. however.. rich ppl can afford help to find the loopholes.
you know... the US supplied both Iran and Iraq with weapons during the Iran-Iraq war in the eighties. And also.. didn't the big country in the west push really hard to get Saddam into power.. think so.
what I don't understand is though, if you read the parent, it seems as if the election workers somehow knew what he was registerd for.. to me it sounds like information that should only be allowed to the party if you want to vote in the primaries.. no?
In Sweden, digital TV is growing and is becoming largely distributed. Many radio stations also send their shows in digital format. What will happen when digital radio is every mans possession? Like the normal radio is today.
The recordings from these broadcasts will be just as good as buying them on cd. And you are already able to stream them directly into your computer.
Will you charge a higher fee from the radiostation or what will your solution be?
is playing to win the perfect strategy?

Well, what I mean is that the perfect strategy doesn't really mean playing to win. I am thinking about the Star Trek episode where Data finally beats some game master just by playing for a draw and not to win.
A couple of years ago.. I think it was 94 or 95 my neighbour traveled with her friends along route 66 writing a book about it..
And during that time they had net connection and uploaded their pictures and writings to a webpage so that you could follow their way.
Unfortunately I don't have either links or the finished book they made.. I just remember that it wasn't very much noticed by the public becasue of the poor internet knowledge back then.

If you were allowed to use your cell phone on the plane, you wouldn't have to pay for the phone service the airline company has.
Simple as that.. =)
you might be right in the case.. however my view on taxevaders still stands regardless of what they've done

Not paying taxes is just cheap. It's a way of saying that you only want to leech on society and not give anything back.
Unless you do it as a form of civil disobedience, but in such case it should be accompanied with a statement of some sort..
tsk tsk tsk...
now go ahead and mod me down 'cause you don't agree =)

looks like you're the only sane person here.
as often proclaimed by users using cracked software "you are free to do what you want with it as long as you own it"
most likley they own the licenses they need.. I seriously doubt another reason for them to use this program otherwise..
Sometimes however, finding a key is not the easiest thing, or fastest.
if they don't own it, it's quite funny, =)
Anyone who's actually surprised? :(
it helps somewhat =)

I'm sorry, I must be totally out of the loop here in Europe..
but when you register to vote you actually have to say where your vote will go?
or am I reading this wrong?
erhm.. when did macs get immune to viruses? most intriguing statement ;)
I got a virus on my LC back in the days. and I'm pretty sure a lot of other mac users can testify that they're not immune..
no os will ever be immune to viruses
damaging Slashdot credibility and objectivity
/. is objective? did you just visit the site to write casue of the story?
what? where have you been if you think
slashdot has never been objective.. they post stories.. and they are often biased.
(hot tip newbie: do a combined search on microsoft and linux)
slashdot is the only place you sometimes can read an enlightened view from americans
I knew Jack.
He's actually kinda friendly.
now.. all we need to do is convince the us gov that al Quaida cells are receiving messages trough spam and we'll be rid of this for good!
UPDATE: It was a fake back then... My guess is that this is too.
This happened the first time Survivor ran in Sweden too.

It's a little offtopic but still interesting...
