Reaching back a bit, but Korean shopowners used them very effectively to defend their shops/homes during the Rodney King riots.

Where do you get your information? Everything in that sentence is wrong.

  4. Like I said in another post, I wouldn't trust the current materials with combustion temps and pressures. Making an extended magazine release, though, is entirely within the realm of possibility. As for the legality, people have been making AR-15s from 80% receivers for years. It's entirely legal per the BATF, though I haven't had a chance/need to catch up on the latest police state law in CA.

For the upper receiver, sure. The lower receiver houses the trigger group, mag release, and a few other things that don't operate under the firing pressure. Would I trust current filament with this? Maybe, maybe not. I still like that the plans are out, though.

  6. That was a really interesting concession, because otherwise the government would've run afoul of U.S. v. Miller, which found that gun control was not a violation of rights if the weapon in question was not militarily useful.

  7. Finally, a good reason to get that 3D printer!

  8. Which well regulated militia are you a member of again?

Well, I've been in the Navy for 24 years, so... Also, there's plenty of literature that "well regulated" means that the people ought to be a match for any standing army (cf. Hamilton, The Federalist No. 29).

I have to jump through more hoops to get a drivers license than to carry a deadly weapon whose sole purpose is to kill...

A driver's license is not a right. Nor is a firearm's sole purpose to kill. I've shot thousands of rounds over the years and not one has killed a single living thing. As far as regulating without abridging, I suggest you look in places like CA, DC, and Chicago. I find it useful to compare the tactics of gun-grabbers with those of anti-abortionists; they may not push for an outright ban, but they'll certainly try to regulate it out of existence.

  9. And the gun grabbers. After all, there wouldn't be any crime if we just rounded them all up, amirite?

Remember kids, when they say "no one is coming for your guns," they really mean "we're totally coming for your guns."

Sure, might as well. By now, you've removed any semblance of childhood from a school and are now actively preparing them for life in a police state, where every action is monitored, every stranger a killer. You will not like the voting trend when they turn 18.

Otherwise, hell no. Update textbooks, get supplies in the classroom, boost teacher wages, maybe do an efficiency study to see how many "administrators" can be chopped. IOW, there are other things with higher-priorities than the latest opportunity for graft and control.
