    you know, I'm not convinced by this theory? I've seen a number of cool charts that plot lead pollution against crime, but you could make cool charts about anything if you could pick your subset adequately. it's like the anti vaxxer stuff.

    my 2000 honda accord lasted 12 years and 200k miles. and it ran great and was in great condition. it only went to the graveyard because I put it into a tree.

    This is a great idea. I use a similar app to snap a window to the left/right size. A cool feature would e to snap the window to screen quadrants.

    1) I don't know. It's probably the same panel Dell announced a couple months ago.
    2) no. You could probably do some sort of solution, but no hardware connection.

    Source for this? I haven't read anything about apple's access to information, and would be very interested if they cut themselves out of the loop by design.

    On two different occasions I sold 5 year old MacBook on Craigslist for $500. I don't know what the expectation would be for an hp or whatever, but I was satisfied with this.

    What's interesting is over the past 20 years OEMs made tremendous strides in efficiency, but instead of boosting MPGs they invested these gains into cars that were bigger and more powerful while meeting the same standards.

    Not this. Fuel economy standards were fixed for 25 years, and the average fuel economy remained constant. Companies design to the standard. It's important to know what companies can achieve so you don't make impossible goals, but standards drive change.

    I think it's actually Obama who's done the most on climate change concretely. He signed into law new fuel economy standards that will double the fuel called me a new vehicles. Elon musk is selling a couple thousand cars a year, well Obama standards will affect millions of cars every year.

    Neither are more secure than the other and that's a fact and will always remain a fact so long as humans are using these devices.

    I agree, in a sense if a human is in the equation then there's always going to be an element of insecurity. But one choice can still be more secure than the other.

    Nevertheless, everything you've listed is also available on android devices so I fail to see what point you're trying to make?

    Now you're just trolling. Of the five things I listed, number 2 -- 2-factor authentication -- is on android as well. But numbers 1, 3, 4, and 5 are all iOS or apple specific and definitely not on android.

    that's actually a really cool site, thanks for this. the user sets his his name set. the name sets are what you expect: american, hispanic, german, etc. but they also have hobbit. My new name is Tomburän Mugwort.

    Apple isn't any better than google.

    [citation needed].

    1) All iOS devices are encrypted such that even Apple can't access.
    2) After #Celebgate apple rolled out 2 factor authentication throughout the OS and services.
    3) iMessages and Facetime are encrypted end-to-end, so even apple can't access them when they're on the server.
    4) apple's business model is not to spy on their users in order to make more money from them.
    5) if you look through all the NSA leaks and all the hacker actions, none of them have been able to penetrate a iOS device that is not jailbroken.

    US spent a trillion dollars on the war in Iraq. If the billion is spent in US and it uses US manufacturers, then it's basically an infusion into the economy.
