    Any vulnerability with the properties mentioned by the OP can be made into a worm. There is no special, extra scary worm property.

    For me, 25.000 people put in concentration camps is a large number. I simply don't get what you are trying to say in the second paragraph of your original post. You make it sound like German fascism was rather OK until 1941.

    At this late date, most people have lost sight of the fact that the Nazis didn't really start putting Jews in the camps, in large numbers, until late 1941 or early 42. Before that, the camps programs had focused on minor criminals and mental defectives with the claim that they would be rehabilitated and not simply destroyed.

    More than one Java developer has told me it takes a smart person 10 years to become completely proficient in Java.

    If that was true, there wouldn't have been any "completely proficient" Java developers until 2005.

    It shouldn't be long before Wal-Mart becomes frustrated enough with the carrier cartel and launches their own prepaid phones leasing access from these networks.

    In Germany it already is exactly like this. Many supermarkets have their own prepaid offerings in cooperation with one of the traditional providers.

    I think using plain SHA-1 is not secure enough. One should at least use a HMAC with a secret key.

    Here is how to get more or less the old behavior. Go to about:config and set browser.urlbar.matchOnlyTyped to true and browser.urlbar.richResults to false. Then restart.

    GenerateHash is a standard HMAC implementation. GenerateKey is the real meat.

    One should look at the relative numbers:

    HDD manufacturer KB = 97.7% of binary KB
    HDD manufacturer MB = 95.4% of binary MB
    HDD manufacturer GB = 93.1% of binary GB
    HDD manufacturer TB = 90.9% of binary TB

    We're getting ripped off more and more ;)
