    You obviously didn't get what Tim Burton was trying to do. If you had watched a lot of 1950's and 1960's bad sci-fi before you saw "Mars Attacks!" you would probably would have gotten it...

    Every second those "hackers" spend on chat/irc/etc. is a second wasted when they could be doing something constructive, like, their job.
    I don't know about you, but I would rather have the spooks chatting instead of supporting right-wing death squads and destabilizing popularly-elected left-leaning governments around the world!!!

    A human language should be specified in the same manner as a programming language?! Get real.
    Computer languages have rules for syntax and grammar, just like human languages. I suggest you read up on linguistics...
    At home and in my private life, however, I am a complete slob. I do things I want to do, in exactly the way I want to do them and I'll fight anyone who tries to force me to do otherwise. I pay my bills, meet people, clean up, eat, exercise, sleep, read, write and speak as I bloody well like.
    And if you insist on writing without proper grammar and spelling, we reserve the right to think of you as an illiterate, backwoods hick. Speak properly and at least we will think of you as an educated, backwoods hick! :->
    People like you who insist on making sure that others behave in a way that is "proper behaviour" even when there is no good reason for forcing the issue, are just unnecessarily burdening theirs and others' lives with useless rules.
    No good reason?!? How about more efficient communication?

    Anyway, those are the same useless rules that you spent years learning about in school. If a poster has some sort of learning disability, he/she can tell us about it and we will take that into account when we read that person's posts; otherwise we will just assume that the poster was either 1) too lazy to learn anything in school, or 2) believes that ignorance is superior to knowledge...

    He is right, people don't realize it yet. Socialism works best with perfect humans (no selfishness, no greed, etc.) yet many modern religions teach us that man CANNOT be perfect. Greed and selfishness have a field day and people come to believe that capitalism is "natural".
    Would I give the bum on the street $5 if I knew he wasn't going to go buy alcohol with it? Sure.
    Hmmm... On the one hand you rail against the elites and claim to identify with the little man yet you won't help the little man when you have a chance?

    Charity should have no strings. What is the "bum on the street" does with the money is irrelevant, as once you give it to him it is HIS money, not YOURS anymore. Anyway, by definition charitable people give, selfish people don't. If you have to think about giving you are just as selfish as the elites you are rail against...

    I hear few things in the media to counteract all the press generated by Abu Muima Jamal supporters... even though there's a lot of solid facts that pretty much make him a cop killer.

    Actually I hear more from the dead cop's family, who wants to punish SOMEONE even if that someone is possibly innocent...

    With the media, they're also slightly biased toward liberalism, and if you say they're not, then look at how right now Bush is pretty much the winner of the election

    As of this moment Gore is ahead in electoral votes as well as the popular vote. If it wasn't for the "Banana Republic of Florida" Gore would win it outright. In a tight election controversy is inevitable; however, when the one state that has MAJOR problems with its electoral process happens to be governed by the brother of one of the candidates, the smell of corruption is unavoidable...

    I don't like the focus on the post-election bickering... it's disgraceful and disgusting, and it's making me want to move to Canada even more...

    Do you have a source for this statistic? Judging from the Houston Comical my experience says otherwise.

    You can find George Will, William Safire, and William Buckley but not native Texan (and über-liberal) Molly Ivins.

    It seems that the Comical doesn't mind effete Eastern intellectuals as long as they are conservative effete Eastern intellectuals!!! :->

    Most states actually have a fine/jail time system built up for delegates who do not vote as they have been elected to.

    Actually, according to Thursday's USA Today only four states have penalties, and the worst penalty is a $1,000 fine. There is also some question as to the constitutionality of laws restricting the electors...

    There is no such thing as a melting pot!!! That is just a idiotic metaphor that White conservatives like to trot out, which in reality is a code phrase telling minorities that they need to "whiten" themselves in order to be fully accepted by their White masters. White people that use the term "melting pot" don't have the balls to overtly say that they are for "White Power" so they use weasel words instead.

    If you really need a metaphor, think mosaic. Each tile has its own properties and you can group tiles into communities, but you cannot auto-magically convert a white tile into a black one or vice-versa. If you break up two tiles and attempt to combine them you won't get a gray tile, just two piles of tile shards - one black and one white...

    The electorial college prevents racists and radicals from being elected by enhancing the voting power of minorities..

    HA HA HA HA!!! So that is why we haven't had a White president in the last 50 years!!! Good one -- have you considered a career in standup comedy?

    Whenever states and counties have tried to make it required for citizens to confirm that they are who they claim to be, the ACLU jumps in and says that it's harassment and a violation of our voting rights.

    The Web was not designed to be WYSIWYG. HTML is for content markup, not visual markup.

    Nice to see that at least one person understands what the web is all about.

    If you need absolute control over the look of a page (why?), use Flash or some other plug-in.

    Wolfie works really hard on the site he doesn't have the time to redesign it just so you guys can use your shitty browser.
    I don't have the time to go to a website that doesn't display properly on my preferred browser just because its author doesn't know how to code cross-platform HTML (Notice how the meta generator="Front Page" tag has been removed :-).

    And I sure as hell don't have the time to go to your crappy website especially when it comes up with a "404 Not Found" error. (And what's up with all the extra unnecessary carriage returns?)

    If you want to give it away, then put it in the public domain, and if you want to loan it out,
    and get source to any changes back from others
    then put it under the GPL. But if what you want to do is to share your work with the world,
    and not get the source to any changes back
    then the BSD license is the way to go.
    I don't understand why the BSD license even exists. Why not copyright your source code and then put it in the public domain if you don't care how other people use it?
