I'm generally sticking with HDDs, too, because of when the last SSD died suddenly I lost a lot of valuable work with it due to "sudden refusal to work at all". Maybe SSDs aren't unreliable, but they certainly need a better failure prediction to give you enough time to backup your data. Something like "yo, I'm gonna die tomorrow, better make a backup or else". With HDDs you can in most cases still save your data somehow unless the motor dies, and even then you could retrieve the valuable data if you pay some money to some pro company that does this. With HDDs your data is never really lost. Unless you really ruin the HD physically, and I mean the platter. So I do use SSDs but I don't consider them additional storage but temporary, fast and a bit unreliable storage, that needs to be backed up from time to time to avoid losing valuable data suddenly. It's a shame, but it is how it is. One day SSDs will be better and more reliable than HDDs, I'm sure of it, but for now it's better to be careful with SSDs, unless your data is of disposable kind. I'm into music production and we handle some valuable data that costs loads of money to recreate.
Nowadays everybody wants you to pay for the commercials, too. As if we're being privileged to watch them. Windows 10, for example. Terrible times. That's why people turn to illegal streaming websites. I personally haven't seen a commercial for years and years. If I happen to see one somewhere I go "wooow, how stupid is this? Why should I watch this? Why is this being pushed upon me?" As I said, this becomes especially obvious when you live your life commercials-free. They are not contributing to our quality of life at all. They are just annoying. I want to continue living my life commercial-free and I'll fight with everything I can to do that.

What is more profitable: to sell a new 10% better chip every 6 months, or to take time for research and sell a new 50% better chip every 2 years or so? It's the Apple iPhone philosophy, too. They sell you a marginally better [or not better at all] phone every 6 months. So it's not just physics. That's how you get the *impression* that the technology is moving forward more slowly than it used to. If you look back 20 years, you can see that we produced new/better chips less frequently, but they were much better than the previous ones.

It's not hypothetical. It is happening. The business owners looking for more profit will employ robots instead because employing even people from 3rd world countries doesn't bring enough profit for their greedy souls. In a way they are contributing to their own demise with their greediness.
Why would you have to work since there is a robot filling your place? Why wouldn't you live a life of comfort and enjoy yourself? Finally we have the tech so people can stop being slaves to work.
You should stop thinking that nobody will work because robots will do the work for us, at a majority of jobs. So somebody IS working after all, and why not give those fruits of [free] work to people who can't, can't find work, or just don't want to work?
Translation is: for every person on UBI there will be at least one robot doing the work for him, kinda. So no person will work instead of a jobless person. It will be a robot. Are we already contemplating robot's rights and call them people?

Man, if Kodi is a problem, then all the browsers are the problem, too, because you can get to the illegal streaming content with it as easily, if not easier. Let's just ban every Internet app to satisfy the media content industry, eh? They should just leave Kodi alone. And as always, police, politicians, and the media content industry is showing us for the n-th time just how stupid and ignorant they are about the Internet and computer technology.
