  7. This happened to my wife the other day. She uses a leather wallet case. I suspect she unintentionally launched Siri.

    Right here at my desk, I said, "Hey Siri ... call Sarah."

    The 5s is at the lock screen and said, "OK, calling Sarah."

    My wife answered her phone.

    I often wake Siri up during casual conversation.

    Starting with entry-level education, students learn useless shit and if the right wing Evangelical Christians get their way, we'll be teaching Creationism instead of Evolution; anti-climate change, bigotry and misogyny and nationalism.

    It's a lost cause for America, anyway.

    We lost the middle class a long time ago and we're not going to get it back.

    Globalism is out of favour in the future, so we can't even feed into other country's middle class.

    That's like saying consumers should be up on current events by intuition, with no need for news sites.

    All this shit is computers. Computers should be hardened against this simple crap.

    The answer is to prevent this from happening in the first place.

    I'd suggest a botnet scanner that gives a heads up about open doors and the presence of malware signatures.

    Manufacturers should force password change, or halt installation.

    I like the equipment that ships with random username/password on the bottom that can't be changed.

    Apple needs to do R&D on their core products. They have way too much cash to be re-inventing the wheel.

    ... I was a member of a local forum (and I'm all for 'em) and I discovered, by accident, that it was "user-moderated."

    If a comment was reported more than three times, the board automatically removed it.

    They relied on cookies to determine that I had already reported it so I searched for that cookie.

    I'd report a post and then delete that particular cookie and then report it again, about seven times.

    The only administrator, a local TV personality (and nice guy) had to field questions about censorship and I'd salvo-report his comments.

    Six months after the forum was replaced by Facebook, I called him and told him what I did.

    He laughed about it.

    But we both agreed I was a shithead.

    I yell on social media a lot and I get yelled at.

    However, I do all that shit with fake accounts.

    I have a Facebook account using my real name and I'm polite as fuck so I don't piss off family or Friends. I post original photos, music, and I inform about the latest hack and how to prevent it.

    I provide tech support and historical insight.

    I do NOT speak my mind because I would have no audience. I do block insipid assholes who shit on my lawn. I don't allow religion, politics, or racism or gay-bashing.

    Facebook is for cat videos.

    I have many other Facebook accounts. I have a few Twitter accounts and one Instagram.

    On Twitter, especially, I join the shit storm with fact-based logical arguments and I swing a dead cat.

    For those social media people who behave as described in this article, (they don't block ads and crap) they have every right.

    I advise acquaintances to go dark and yell.
