its a fact of life that if democracy works properly, people start getting apathetic about it. making it more convenient and accessible is a good thing..ive probably voted more on /. than IRL.

BTW, the image doesnt magically appear -- it takes time and is a messy process. ive dont it once and i gave up in favor of a nice auto film processing machine. most of us also use transistors on our CD/DVD players and prefer mice to messy paints anyway..old cameras, tubes and assorted shit is going..going..gone.

    photoCD's are at :
    3072 x 2048, 1536 x 1024, 768 x 512, 384

Most modern scanners can match everything upto 3072 x 2048..the new HP scanners with hardware super-sampling can match that too..so photoCD isnt that great.

i believe sourcer handles compressed EXE's..i.e. the ones compressed with pkware's exe compressor. it basically allows the decompression to take place and then starts disassembly.

transparency would also be used to make some people outcasts. it would mean that everyone had to conform or be publicly humiliated. it's similar to the policy hitler had for jews : you have to wear a large gold star to show that you dont belong and youre officially an enemy of the public. the obscurity we have now is far better than a complete loss of personal info. right now large corporations may have amassed some information but they dont have everything.

RTLinux and linux are different. RTLinux are the realtime extensions which allow linux to compete with the likes of OS/9, QNX etc etc...and they (RT extensions) arent as good as a full rtos designed from scratch. OS/9 is superior to QNX, imho, but thats prolly cos ive used it more. it may not havea fancy gui and other crap but its small fast and reliable and rtos stuff like real time scheduling etc.
