Kang is a flip-flopper! Kodos will stay the course, remain resolute, and keep his focus on the war on terror. A vote for Kang is a vote for terrorism; don't let the terrorists win!
"Hey terrorists...terrorize *this* *BLAM!*"
I dunno...if Kang wings, I think I'm gonna have to move to Ork.
I think they're both on hiatus until January, though I could be wrong.
I like the new show 'Lost' quite a bit, plus the Sigfried & Roy bits of 'Father of the Pride' are freaking brilliant at times (especially the 7-11 episode).
Kim Jong-Il's deadly panthers! (oooh, scary!) The new guy's panic signal. The stretch Lamborghini! It's...inebidable. The opening scene with the marionette's marionettes, The new guy's terrorist disguise. The psychic team member. "I sense I'm attracted to him." The 'love' scene. Team America's theme song. Freedom costs a buck-oh-five.
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess Parker & Stone are gay, because they sure do seem obsessed by cock.

I didn't see anything in the article that said a design had to be turned around and launched within a year. The ones that aren't ready can simply shoot for the next year's event - hence the fun of it being a yearly event. I'd say that would actually take the pressure off of launching by a certain window, thus making accidents less likely. Nobody else can ever get first post now that the first prize has been one.
True, but we're already seeing new graphics cards from the two major players coming out in PCIe versions first, and the PCIe migration isn't even really in full swing, yet.
It shouldn't require anything more than a BIOS update, if that. If you've been waiting awhile, I'd suggest you keep waiting for the PCIe boards; it shouldn't be much more than a few months now, and will ensure a much longer useful life.
I don't think I'd go for a VIA solution over an NVidia one, but it's certainly best to wait for detailed reviews of both before deciding, especially if you tend to keep your systems around for a long time. I'm just now in the process of upgrading from a 550MHz Slot-A Athlon system. I have high hopes for BZFlag playing with my new NVidia 5900XTV over my old GeForce2mx (which wasn't doing textures very well any longer, either).:)
I'd wait until the Athlon 64 PCIe boards come out before buying a new system, so as to prolong useful system life. Nvidia's nForce4 chipset should be out in 4th quarter or thereabouts. _Then_ you can jump safely into a new system.
Okay, but how does that work - is that 360Mbps per cell, or per connection per cell? Big difference there if it has to be split up for each user on a cell.
Oh, and if you're gonna dream, forget about the laptop - watch the movie on some LCD glasses or something.:)
My registrar is Dotster, who has a free spam whois shield available for its customers. The email address in the domain info given out is really an alias to the one you give them, and that alias shifts like once a week or so (not sure on how often). This is generally not often enough to get onto spam lists, though I have gotten a couple of messages over the last few years. Obviously not something to worry about.
Okay, I saw it, and loved just about everything about it, except the opening title sequence was so jarringly out of place - it's like a standard opening title sequence for a regular movie, not for a 30s/40s sci-fi homage. Weird.
I thought the storyline was great, the characters were very well realized, and the special effects were fantastic, most especially the designs. The more 30s & 40s sci-fi/action serials you've read/seen, the more you'll realize how effin' brilliant this homage is. If you've never read or seen anything from that era, you're really gonna hate this movie, though you may have enough artistic appreciation in your soul to see the beauty in the designs (though I doubt it, from most of the comments in here thus far).
The effects aren't _intended_ to be realistic. Another movie that did this to great effect was last year's fantastic version of "Peter Pan," which I very highly recommend. Kerry Conran (writer & director) came up with the idea to make, essentially, a comic book come to life, IN THE STYLE OF THE COMICS. _That_ is something noone has done before. The 'set' design evokes a time that never really existed (well, much like most movies do). I love the revisionist history, Hindenburg III, indeed, and docking with the Empire State Building like the original - nice touch! I found out that some New Yorkers don't even know about that.
I think a travelling museum piece about all of the things that influenced the making of "Sky Captain" would be a pretty marvellous thing.
re: the acting
Okay, it wasn't bad, first off. They did what they intended to do, so guess what? You missed the whole point. This is a comic book. Use your brain and think about the things that implies, okay?
The character I was most impressed with was Dex - a character that could have easily have been a helpless little geek character. Instead, he's the one responsible for most of the technical innovation the good guys use. His inspiration? Comic books! Brilliant. And I want that ray gun of his in the worst kind of way! Every time Cap said, "Good boy," I wanted to beat the shit out of him. And I cheered when Cap socked Polly.:)
I'd say anyone bitching about this would bitch about the original Star Wars (A New Hope) if they were seeing it for the first time now. You've got no soul.
And people are _bored_ by this movie? Geez. I feel really sad for you.
I really think Slashdot updating their HTML would be _much_ harder than what was suggested above. MUUUUUCH harder. I think what was suggested above will happen much sooner.
Slashdot doesn't even need to update to 2001; all they need to do is _correctly_ support any real version of HTML - any one would do; as long as it's valid. I'll hold my breath - I look stunning in blue.:)
I am _SO_ voting for Kodos.

If low-performing Linux ATI drivers are a shock to you, you haven't been paying attention for a few years. :(

Go ahead, laugh. Everyone laughed when Orville Wright invented his brother Wilbur...
Awesome!
Anyone know where I can find some really small VTEC stickers?
So which would result in cheaper transport costs - a space elevator, or a rail-gun system? Anyone know?
Blimps. Wave of the future. It's a whole new paradigm!
