Easy way to short circuit this - it's possible to follow their dress code and still look slutty. They want tops with collars? Fine - just don't button thrm up. Curve-accentuating jeans, shoes with clear acrylic heels (the ones worn b Trisha Heffer in Battlestar Galactica were originally obtained for $20 from Walmart). Purple or pink hair, etc. And guys, sporting bed hair all day, every day, should get your ball caps back. And get your kilts - and stay authentic - no tidy-whities.

Some rules are just begging to be broken in specific circumstances.

Caitlyn Jenner has already stated that she currently sees herself as asexual, but probably more of a lesbian. When people transition, sometimes the sex they're attracted to also changes, sometimes it doesn't. And Ms Wu is already married, so I guess that's not going to happen unless she wants to ride Jenner's coat tails and get more attention.

Some trans adopt a hyper-feminist line to deflect attention from the whole question of their previous gender. It's a technique some trans also use to affirm their legitimacy as real women while attacking others and denying them the same courtesy. Slashdot should have asked the hard questions. Wu should realize that when you become a publicity whore you're fair game. Of course a denial would have produced proof to the contrary, and an admission after refusing to provide a clear answer for so long would make people wonder if she saw her past as an impediment to being accepted as a woman.

You're been able to stuff data into the keyboard buffer and read it back for decades. Same as sticking executable code or data in an unused page of video ram that doesn't get reinitializes so it can survive a warm reboot. Ditto for a modem buffer (already an I/o device), as well as the buffer in a serial mouse. Even the old parallel printer ports.

Internet dating is for people who don't have the social skills to meet people and engage in more than a nod or good morning in passing. The same people who don't know their next door neighbors and then complain they have nobody to talk to. Getting out and actually doing something, which would help address the problem, is too outside their comfort zone due to lack of practice. I predict a rise in similar scams targeted at the aging male programmer population who think they'll never fall for it.
