But Sega is notorious for cancelling support for systems once the next best thing comes out. Unless I win one in a contest or receive one as a gift I going to wait to see if the Dreamcast will stick around long enought to be worth while.
It's my understanding that they wanted the memory slot to be compatible with old memory cards and the new ones, so they had to make something similar to the old card.
These specs make it sound like it can play DVD movies.

This has nothing to do with the size of the company. The company I work for has somewhere in the area of 70 to 80 Thousand employees, about three times that of Microsoft. This has to do with the fact that Microsoft is using it monopoly in an illegal way. I am wondering though, the popularity of Linux seems to have taken off since the beginning of the trial, and several people I know have switched from using win95/98/NT after hearing about all these things Microsoft is doing. So I believe the trial has had a huge effect on their marketshare because many people didn't think there was an alternative to MS products.
I remember reading something(can't remember where I read it though) about George Lucas having a commitee that would read through any books about Star Wars to make sure they continued the continuity of the Star Wars Universe. A perfect example is in Timothy Zahn's Thrawn trilogy, the Norghri were initially the Sith but Zahn was told he couldn't use the Sith because it might contradict some things in the SWU.
Leonardo DiCaprio's Movies over $100 Million Dollars: Titanic DiCaprio has been in 12 Movies for a combined total of ~$760 Million Dollars.
Harrison Ford's Movies of $100 Million Dollars: Star Wars Return of the Jedi Empire Strikes Back, The Raiders of the Lost Ark Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade Fugitive, The Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom Air Force One Clear and Present Danger American Graffiti
Harrison Ford has been in 31 movies for a combined total of $2.9 BILLION dollars. I think Ford picks much better scripts than Leo.
I curious about one thing, in the Old Republic it seems to be a requirement to have martial art skills to be a Jedi. Yet in the original trilogy( which granted there were only a few Jedi in it)Luke's training involves almost no Martial Art techniques(I doubt the somesault in the air qualifies as a MA technique),I'm wondering if this has anything to do with the sudden popularity of Martial Arts today(Tai Chi, Tai-Bo, Tai-"insert anything here as long as it sounds good"), or if it is just an amazing coincidence. I don't want to start a flame war and I am a big fan of George Lucas, but he seems to put things in this movies that sell, almost as if it was money and not his love of making movies driving this.
good call. They do seem so much alike. Both are annoying and both were pointless to the plot of the movie/series.(At least Wesley hasn't been in and Star Trek movies, yet)
I remember reading in a scientific magazine(unsure of the name) in high school. That CFCs from the freon and aerosol cans were not causing the hole in the ozone. They even found evidence that the hole existed several years before CFC were even developed. I'm fairly positive this is what was said but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.(I was over seven years ago when I read this.)
AFAIK, when the Nintendo 64 came out games for it required a one year exclusive contract with Nintendo to not release the game in any other format. I don't think they still have that given that some games have been released on the 64, PC and Playstation at the same time.
Civilization: Call To Power was released by Activision and not officially endorsed by Sid Meier. Only the original Civilization and Alpha Centari are official Sid Meier titles. Sid Meier never did any work on Civ II which was really just an updated Civilization.
With some AGP cards you never have to use system memory anyway. Two examples are the ATI Rage Fury and the Number Nine Ticket to Ride IV, both offer versions with 32 MB of video memory, more than enough for current games. And they aren't that expensive either(Last I checked you could get a Number Nine for about US$169.00)
So do you mean if you created your own kernel for a free OS and 8 years later it is so popular that the University of Stockholm was going to offer you a Honorary Degree you would turn it down.
oops. After reading another faq apparently the new Nintendo system will feature DVD playback out of box. The DVD is developed by Panasonic, Panasonic also sells DVD players. The new Nintendo system is supposed to be real cheap. Sounds to me like Panasonic may lose it's low end DVD player market if it will be cheaper to buy the Nintendo system. They better hope they get a good chunk of Nintendo's profits on this system
I noticed when they compared the all powerful next gen Nintendo system(which software developers haven't seen demonstrated yet) to the next gen Playstation(which software developers have seen demonstrated), he seemed to leave out the fact that Sony's system is backwards compatible. Also stated was DVD movie playback would be available in the future, which sounds like it won't be available out of box.
Nintendo is once again going to hurt themselves. They are releasing a DVD compatible system which means all those Nintendo 64 owners that spent a fortune on the system and the games for it will have to buy a system that alienates their current software(taking a note from Sega no doubt). I for one will enjoy playing new as well as old games on my next generation playstation when comes out.
another interesting note. Zdnet while praising the stability and reliability of Windows NT, Netcraft says zdnet is running on Solaris and Netscape/Enterprise.
http://psx.ign.com/news/7154.html This link is to a playstation 2 faq. In it is says that Sony has officially announced that the playstation 2(or whatever it will be called) will have a maximum price of $400.00 and it could be alot less.
read the stats for the PS2 at www.playstation.com it states that DVD video is supported on the PS2.

It was actually Worldcom's Frame Relay Network that went down not MCI's. The two networks haven't been integrated into each other yet.

If I recall HS history class correctly english outvoted german by one vote.

I doubt Lucas wants to pay Leo's $20 Million dollar a movie salary either.
The Mars Pathfinder was also Z80 based. I didn't really need anything more powerful.

not true. For a short period of time there was an adapter you could buy for the SNES that would allow you to play NES games

from what I have found on the K7 is that it will also have a propietary "Slot A" interface for the processor requiring new motherboards
