Have you ever used a PC? My brand new G4 at work with 512MB RAM AND the Pshop pluggins for the G4 cannot hold a candle to my PC running a 733 PIII with 256MB at home in real world Photoshop filter tests. I've put them side by side and my PC either beats or ties it. Even just starting PShop is faster on my PC. Tried DVD playback on your MAC? Tried it on a PC? NO comparrison. PHOTOSHOP IS NOT FASTER ON MACS. This is a misconception propogated by Apple.

I can't get to the article as I am sure it has been Slashdotted. But, as a daily hardcore user of Apple products for over 8 years I can assuredly tell everyone that Macs are far less superior to PCs in gaming, multimedia and just about everything else I've ever used them for. Java crashes the OS easily. The famed i-Tunes crashes your system after about a couple hours of use with other problems. Too much multitasking (which the Apple OS does not have...yes, Win98 isn't true multitask, but it handles it far better than Apple) will crash the Finder. OS 9.1 will not work well on any system. Conversely, newer G4's will not work WITHOUT 9.1...catch 22! DVD playback is an abhorrid nightmare. CD ROM access time is about 10 times slower than the slowest PC times. Internet access and page load times are twice as slow. Many pages load incorrectly, if at all. Need I continue?
Why would I want to pay for information I've been getting for free all these years? You can load the entire page full of advertising and I will ignore it, unless something catches my eye. There's no way I'd pay for biased info I have to filter through myself and research before I come across the truth. Just like I refuse to pay for the Houston Chronicle because everything written is someone's opinion, not news.
