Sorry, but I can get Linux to crash on my laptop thanks to a certain crappy ALSA implementation. Just recently my Gentoo startup froze for no reason. I literally had to power off and restart, which fixed the problem.
Windows, needless to say, works without even installing vendor drivers.
But everytime I point out someone's interface flaws, someone in the OSS community screams at me "it's volunteer work" or "program your own version then."
Then I realize I don't want to work with a bunch of anti-social programmers.
It's just an internal codename. The features will be available for download. The name will be different upon release.
Basically, the only reason this article got posted was so that very bad "comedians" could make very bad jokes involving the Matrix. I've seen every expected cliche as far as humor goes, all within the first 50 posts. It's ridiculous.
Should we also make fun of the OSS naming problems? Kougar? Kroupware? Kallery? Xouvert? Come on.
The first tier will be full 3d acceleration, second tier will have rolled-back features, all the way to the last tier which will essentially be "Windows Classic."
I'm wondering how many years it will take for KDE to rip off the 3D acceleration features...the whole desktop will be DirectX accelerated, going far and beyond what OS X has been doing as far as 3D photorealistic desktop concepts go. It's codenamed "Aero" and they're not release screenshots because they don't want their concepts ripped off.
With CD walkman's so cheap and durable now (for years, I've been able to literally shake any portable CD player in my hands and the music doesn't skip) using nothing but two AA batteries, I see no reason why a handheld drive for an even smaller disc wouldn't be possible in the next few years for a new Gameboy system.
When the SNES was out, nobody thought a portable SNES was possible either, but the GBA is even more powerful than the SNES. Just takes time for technology to catch up!
Or, that particular port of the Gimp could conform to the interface of that particular operating system. If the Gimp doesn't work with the taskbar and logic of that operating system--it is a broken port.
That is, after all, the point of a port...

Here's hoping the next Gameboy is a handheld Gamecube-based system with a cartridge slot for older Gameboy games...seriously, that'd be the ultimate Gameboy for me.
I hope Nintendo's next Gameboy is simply a handheld Gamecube with a cartridge slot for backwards-compatibility. Think about it--the Gamecube discs are already small enough. And then Nintendo would already have a product line as well as developers familiar with the system.
I'd love to go from Metroid Zero Mission to Metroid Prime on one handheld Gameboy...
It affects his ability to connect with the "folks." Do you really want the 3rd richest President in the nation's history after a Republican like Bush?
There are endless stories online from unbiased sources about Kerry's rudeness to people as a senator--including the classic "Do you know who I am?" question when cutting in line at restaurants.
Are there any distros running purely udev? From what I understand, most distros use a backup tarball to populate the/dev directory (i.e., what Gentoo does), which defeats the whole point.
Why shove udev into a stabel kernel when it doesn't even work yet? Now I see why people were pissed off over it.
Question--how did you get your Radeon to work? At first you're told you need to emerge xfree-drm, but then you find out xfree-drm is not compatible with 2.6.
Does 2.6's Radeon support really work for Radeons up to 9000? (I'd find out myself, but I'm still compiling KDE...:)

Have you even read up on the Sony PSP and the discs it uses?
I'm not a Democrat. Still, I agree with you.

Seriously, I can't believe Sony didn't think of that.
PlayMobile sounds exactly like a Playstation-handheld system would be named.

Interesting...is it a problem in Photoshop CS? I haven't had this problem.

Define "basically runs Gentoo." Why don't you just install it normally?
:) Your description is unclear.
Hell, if you have a LiveCD, use that to compile your kernel. What in god's name are you trying to do with that system?
I hear all sorts of problems caused by the faulty genkernel.
It's much better to just compile the thing yourself.

Unless this is an attempt by a right wing organization to discredit Kerry, why waste your time? Especially when you are lying?
Lying about this?
I'd recommend Kuro5hin, but at some point it became a left-wing Bush-bashing website, with the occassional "Here's something funny" brainfart.
Outside of Debian:
/sbin/lilo
make menuconfig
make bzImage modules modules_install
Wow, you beat us by one line. But we get the optimized kernel.
I just finished Gentoo Linux this morning. Installed 2.6.3 kernel, both my USB mouse and my touchpad work concurrently.
You don't think Kerry's camp is encouraging this?
Good thing Kerry voted for the DMCA, eh? Or he wouldn't be able to chase down these people "smearing" him.
