Compared to some of the real problems out there (AIDS, malaria, etc.), erectile dysfunction is a recreational problem. As with everything else in life, you play when the work is done.
Then what are you doing spending your time posting on Slashdot? Did you cure AIDS and malaria early yesterday afternoon?

One thing:
Erectile dysfunction was a very important problem for mankind for tens of thousands of years. A tremendous amount of cumulative effort was spent with hundreds of different folk-remedies over the centuries -- several of them no-doubt fatal.
Then some drug company cured it a couple of years ago. The problem was more-or-less gone from that day forward.
And you're complaining about it and belittling the accomplishment.
That doesn't apply to unemployment insurance. You're either unemployed within the rules, or you're not. There's no insurance application. You don't pay the premium either, your employer does.
Also, for other insurance, if you try to cheat your insurance company by lying on your application, they should deny your claim.
The armed forces are marketing now? How can that be?
John Kerry and the Democrats told me I was going to be drafted right after the election. I keep checking my mail. It's been 6 months now and no draft notice.
It must have been lost in the mail. Have any of you recieved your draft notices yet? When do you ship out?
The dozens of changes, while sometimes as subtle as the insertion of the phrase "significant and fundamental" before the word "uncertainties,"...
Gee. How dare they try to describe uncertainties.
The NY Times is a political opponent of the Bush Administration -- as much as John Kerry was, if not more. The NY Times is, furthermore, a proponent of climate-change "remedies" that the Bush Administration opposes. Is it any wonder that the two sides of the political fence might have different choices for the wording of a climate-change report?
Have you watched a newscast in the last 10 years? Actual news is passe. The news business is now:
- Predictions of future news - Polls - Medical warnings that get contradicted the next day/week/month - Celebrity sex/activism - New movies and music - Protests - Press releases from Greenpeace, Amnesty Internalional, the NAACP, and other left-wing groups - Diet books
It's a long term strategy. AMD might not have the technology lead in 2007 or 2008.
Also, AMD provides something Apple's never had: a 100% compatible alternate chip supplier. If Intel doesn't do right by Apple then Apple can switch to AMD at any time. I think that's the biggest long-term win for Apple.
This would separate the science types who base their 'Yes' on sound scientific reasoning and the new-age type who will believe anything just so long as the government denies or refuses to comment on it.
So that you know precisely what percentage of the population you should feel superior to?
I think you're going to have to pay for that poll yourself.
Writers... are more free to explore topics that were once considered taboo
That's part of the problem. They try to get attention instead of trying to tell a story.
Also, there's no way Independence Day or Back to the Future deserve to be on a "best movies of all time" list. They were fun to watch, but there wasn't really anything original there.
What would a kind and compassionate God think of homosexuality (for example)
Just a complete guess, but I'd suggest a kind and compassionate God (or person) would probably think homosexuality was... sad.
It's sad when people miss out on having a family for any reason. It's such a fundamental part of life. And it's sad when families are broken up, or when a couple goes childless, or when a kid grows up without a mother and a father.

Privatising it would change this how exactly? Other than siphoning off a lot of money for profit that would normally go to the unemployed who need it.
Maybe we should all shop at the government grocery store too.
They should just privatize the system. It's insurance. Does an insurance company just hand over money without checking to see if the claim is legit?
What happens when...
Here's what happens:
You can find their names and history on the list. Then you can use your own judgement to determine whether they're a threat.
Sounds ok to me.

so, how's the weather in Calcutta?
monsoony.
I suppose if I had cited slashdot it would be more credible to you?
Yes. Much more.

build a tower or get a flag pole and stick the antenna at the top
Yeah, I think people have a hard time separating what they want to believe from what they have a reason to believe.
Sure, life is certainly a lot more interesting thinking that magic, esp, ufos, auras, etc are real..
That sounds like a reason. It also doesn't necessarily cost anything.
Certainly it doesn't cost as much as the belief that the lottery and the public schools are real.

Ferris - Yes.
Ghostbusters - Maybe.
Back to the Future - No.
The list is missing Seven Samurai.
Wrong again, liberal media.
Morbo is great. Just put Morbo on reading the nightly news. I'd watch that every night.
Is this story a dupe?
I could swear I read about security problems in MSIE before...
Can we have the names and addresses of these dissidents?
What makes you think he needs your approval?
This right here is the fundamental problem with religion.
That's not about religion. It's about the relative unimportance of a random opinion from a guy on a message board.

That's my guess.
Here we go again... why does someone become entirely discreditted when they happen to be religious?
Because they hate religious people.
