More being of the manner of a typo, the fingers go faster than the eyes read and the brain is thinking of, cos well hey if you actually stop and think before posting anything to/. then you are going to be making 200th post and nobodyz gonna see tha damn thing anyhows.
And to be honest I wasn't going for snide, it's an easy enough mistake to make, I double checked myself just to make sure that I wasn't imagining things and this is the 21st.
But, all the time I've been posting here I've never once before had the opportunity to use the word velocipede in a post, and I wasn't going to waste it now.
My sincere apologies to the original poster though for any distress, real or imagined, caused by my flippant, ill thought, and poorly executed attempt at drollery.

Go IBM! That's one company with it's finger on the pulse.

Yup, I think my system is at a point now where I wouldn't dare trying to upgrade from the CD automatically, manually maybe.
If you strip your system down to just what you actually use then keeping up to date isn't that difficult. (in fact I may even get round to doing that someday:)
Their previous auto updaty thing up2date, was a subscription service, but you could change the server it ran on in the config to ftp.redhat.com and it still worked (free), just you don't get guarunteed bandwidth or summit (not much of an issue when you just have a 56K dialup anyway).
Could be that this will be like that?
I gave up on it anyway, it's easier just to d/l the RPM's with something that will resume after a disconnect.
*about how sun was violating his rights somehow, via violating the GPL*
First time through I read that as about how the sun...
hey it's late. The scary thing is I didn't even find it surprising that/. might post an article about that, or that somebody might be suing the sun for violating the GPL...
They said that when they set the set up, and I was just in 'yeah, sure, whatever' mode.
Later I tried videong (?) some PPV stuff and no problems at all... (quality not great though)
Could be a problem with thier software I guess, I'm still getting all the movie channels etc after cancellng after the first month (anybody any idea why this happens? I do tend to cold boot by pulling the cable out of the back when it goes weird)
Remeber the same thing coming up when barcodes were first introduced, looking more and more likely though...
I'd go more for a embedded encryption codes in media players etc just being the first step, the next logical step would be would be to put the codes in the viewers themselves.
perhaps now is the time for all hole fans to join my.mp3.
but it doesn't matter so much what she gets, if other artists follow suite.
except of course that their percentage would have been pretty small anyway so universal will still get the majorly chunk.
except except that a lot of costs should be excepted, as they didn't have to print the CDs and they didn't have to distribute, there is no cut for the stores, they didn't have to do any extra promotion (the people using my.mp3 already had the albums, they knew what they were like, they didn't need selling to).
So...
What did universal do? Maybe almost all that bounty should be going to the artists.
course, buying cds still gives more money to the
record labels...
So don't, there are plenty of bands out there giving thier music away for free, and they aren't bad.
The record companies just pick 1 or 2, not just based on the quality of the music (lack of legal knowledge is a big factor) out of thousands.
Hunt around for something you like, there is a lot out there, and I'm sure courtney would prefer that, after all she probably gets bugger all if you buy her CDs)
The greatest trick the record companies ever pulled was convincing the world that the bands they signed are the best.
It's probably not going to do any harm anyway, most alternative therapies (except possibly breatherianism) are pretty safe.
And there's a fairly good chance it will help, big pharmaceutical companies pay a lot of money for people to research 'folk/native' remedies (then of course they patent them, one of them even patented rice) and make a fortune, because there are a lot of genuine cures to be found.
Let us know how it goes, and if by some strange coincidence you swell up to twice your normal size and turn green, well, I never said this.

No idea why they animated it, there are 2 frames, one the Ne on "Netscape 6 RTM" is slightly bolder, that's about all...

To be honest I'd agree with them, even ping pong at Olympic standard requires a pretty high degree of physical fitness.
This year the IT Olympics is a parody, next year you might be signing up to compete. And it will be bigger than the old sweaty olympics

3rd line replace: I mean, The Killer <=> MI2????
And they are nurtured into turning out shite like MI2.
I mean, The Killer MI2????
They need more competition, more indie films, basically now the big hollywood co.'s have a monopoly, because of thier influence and advertising power.
But the best films I've seen recently weren't from there... (not that I'd recommend 'The Cube' to anyone without happy happy pills nearby)
