Maybe I'm an alien, but the DOS disks were original and were in the *read-only* mode (one thing which seems you don't know, or ignore deliberately [which would be worst]).
Also, it seems you didn't read what I wrote: "file inside Panda installation". I know of no MS-DOS install-time virus that might create files inside folders of antiviruses with the hope you install those and camouflage... Maybe you can shed some light into this and enlighten me....

1 - Format PC 2 - Install MS-DOS 6.22 3 - Install Windows 95 4 - Install Panda (don't remember what number it was) 5 - Create Panda Antivirus Floppy Disks 6 - Reboot and run the floppy disks
And here's when the antivirus detected a infected file inside Panda installation (obviously, nothing else in the system).

Once I got a call from "Microsoft Support Service". Tough it happened years ago, I had no problem to discover the scam in the first sentence:
