The employees for a Wendy's location make up probably less than 1% of the local population. Probably less than 10% of the general population frequent that restaurant regularly, but employees get half-price meals all the time so they are even less likely than the average person to pay full price for a meal from Wendy's. The impact to revenue is therefore almost non-existent, so any payroll impact is likely to have a much larger effect on net profits.
Or, y'know, Probably more than 1% of the general population frequent that restaurant regularly, Probably less than 100% of the general population frequent that restaurant regularly,
tablets can be had for 50 bucks these days. one doesnt need to be rich to have a tablet
also if the expense that that much maybe you dont need a tablet either
Ah yes, such certainty. Who are you to determine that someone should be able to afford 2 things or none at all? And tablets might be cheap now, but they were $200-300 only a couple of years ago.
I can say with certainty that if you can't afford a $200 tablet you can't afford children.. So you should have neither.
If you were barbecuing steak, go for it. Nearly everyone loves that smell..... Most people agree that BBQ smells good and that tobacco smoke stinks and/or hurts people's health.
But feel free to light up your disgusting BBQ and stinking up the neighborhood.
I am a vegetarian. FTFY. See how this works?
FACT: BBQ Smoke, especially aerosolized burnt fat IS a carcinogen.
Let me say it again..... You can't choose regulations strictly on the principle of freedom because it is naturally a resource where one person's usage impacts every other person's usage. Instead you have to balance the needs and wants of various people." It is true that you can't please everyone because different people have different desires. When we have to balance competing desires because we can't just let everyone choose for themselves, then the preferences of the majority are of course more heavily weighted than the preferences of the minority.
So you are in favor of 'tyranny of the masses'. We should ban cigarette smoke because (1) carcinogen, (2) smells bad. Okay. Should we not ban carcinogens that *some* people think smell good? If asbestos smelled like grilled steak would you be against banning it because "most people" like the smell? Your copy/paste response doesn't address these questions.
Your argument seems to be "It's okay to curtail someone ELSE's freedom/rights/privileges as long as the majority agrees -and my freedoms are not hindered."

Look at the way things are right now: there are entire generations of families who know nothing other than living off welfare, making kids so they can get more welfare, and having an attitude of entitlement the whole way. You tell them they need to work to get that money, they laugh in your face, or at best give you a list of (bullshit) reasons why they can't.
So, mandatory sterilization so you get the basic income + 5% (for reduced future entitlements).
Seriously we take care of single (usually STUPID) women with kids already; how come they don't get the Dipravera shot along with their checks?

Bans on people smoking inside their own homes and places of business are a clear attack on basic freedom.
You seem to underestimate the damage that porn is doing to people's lives. The only significant difference between being addicted to porn and being addicted to alcohol is that one can still watch porn and then drive without getting in trouble.
But porn never made me hook up with a fat chick....
I would be surprised to see sugary drinks as the cause of anything you list, even obesity. Obesity is caused by consuming more calories than one burns. Sure sugary drinks add to the total calorie intake, but so does everything else that one eats. Who is to say that the sugary drinks caused the obesity versus the meatloaf?
You can be confident that the world is flat. You are wrong, nevertheless. Google Robert Lusting: Sugar the bitter truth. FACT: You cannot burn exercise the amount of calories that you intake.
If you are lucky, someday you are going to be one. I bet that you will be just as adamant then that the promises that were made to you while you were working and having money extracted from your paycheck based on those promises be honored, as you are adamant now that senior citizens who have had their money taken with the promise of benefits when they get old are "lazy losers".
Your reply to the OP is a non-sequitor. People paid into social security their whole life and they have a right to expect the benefits from that. That those benefits will be coming from current taxpayers is irrelevant to that statement.
No, tell that special snowflake to pay back all the money he received in toll free roads, public schools, etc. I bet if he is college age he'd agree that he shouldn't have to pay for it. Even though I had to pay into social security AND pay for my own school.
Time to adopt the Starship Troopers model - snowflakes aren't citizens until they do federal service. (I would say 2 years military or 3 years volunteering in hospitals)
Your blowing this way out of proportion. It isn't as if Microsoft already has a backdoor that allows their engineers to access any data on your system regardless of FDE without your knowledge.
The National Guard does have law enforcement powers in their state. The federal military does not.
No they don't. Not in ANY state. When the governor activates the NG they support law enforcement. Even when we did bridges & tunnels missions (when Blade II came out) we could not arrest anyone.
My household owns 2 cars, but that doesn't mean that we enjoy driving, the car is just a tool to go places. I'd be happy to turn driving over to the car if it can get me there as safe or more safely as I can get myself there. People [*] drive today because they have no choice (outside of a few cities with good transit).
[*] in my household
My household has three vehicles, which must mean that we enjoy driving. People drive because they enjoy it.
No, he's almost certainly not. He's probably a very typical American. About 50% of America's population supports the people holed up in that wildlife preserve.
You could always try it over there in the States first. All we need to look out for is evidence of endocrine-related illnesses such as IQ loss and obesity among the citizens of the USA, and if we don't see such evidence, we'll know it is safe!
Correlation != causation
We in the US are obese; have more people in prison; suffer from large amounts of rare allergies... etc. But there is no *proof*
There have been a few times I used postgresql to upgrade an access '97 based front-end (Bonds Plus, and an id-card database I might get in trouble for mentioning) to support a higher number of records. No, MS Jet 3.0 didn't solve the problems.
True Army story: I had to explain, (succinctly without cuss-words) to a General why the --redacted-- database was losing information. I don't know if the id card system was made by a solder or a contractor; it was built on Access. The ID cards were blue, red, yellow, brown, etc. Since I was a combat style Staff Sergeant, the hardest part was not cussing. And before you say it: No, the upgrade to MSSQL server did NOT work because of corruption; 3 minutes after running it would fail and rollback to ZERO records. More details available if you ask.
me: Sir, think of your database as a tube, like a soda straw. Each badge is an M & M. You have blue, red, etc m*ms. Eventually the tube gets filled. When you push a new m&m in one side of the tube, another falls out the other end. You don't care about *that* m&m because you don't know what color it is or who it belongs to. Then one day the Deputy Minister of Misinformation for the NonExistant DMV comes in to get his badge. So we search thru the backups, find his m&m and insert it into the tube. He's happy and we're awesome! -Except another m&m gets pushed out of the tube. That's why I recommend Postgresql [showed slide with elephant logo]. It can handle billions of records... General: "RIGHT!!! because an elephant has a huge fuckin ass, and we can shove as many m&m as we want into it! Do it."
This was in 2009, MNFI badge office. You just can't make this shit up.
Maybe these people really did do it the other way round.
Do you have a more plausible explanation for why they're all dead?
Old Age, perhaps?

I've done a lot of counseling sessions with people whose relationships and lives were ruined by the persons addiction to porn.
Liberal arts major?
Smoking I can agree with, too much sugar everywhere is also a bit of a problem considering the immobile life most of us have.
But in society today it's getting harder to find decent partners, so some do resort to porn to relieve their frustration.
if by 'a bit' you mean 100%, I agree

Let me know when a guy in India can fix the lines outside your house on the phone.
Well the guy from India can make it to my house *faster* than the US based employee. "Please stand by, we will be there between 8 am and 5 pm.."
Let those mentally ill people use whatever bathroom they want....

That should be a worrying thought.
Yes, because 5% ~ 50%

"Aggressive US lobbyists" should be told the STFU or simply shot.
Free trade with the US is "we will ignore any obligations, and we will cram our laws down your throat."
We would, but we are busy turning in all our guns and restricting free speech -- so we could be more "enlightened" like the UK, Australia, etc.
How about YOU do that.

Django *rules* as long as it's chained.
Not trying to "convert" you,
Genuine Question: why did you need to compile postgresql to a custom directory?
