    Facebook will go the way of MySpace.
    MySpace lost all of its users when it was repeatedly HACKED.
    How many real accts on FB are already compromised?
    Google?
    Oh yeah, YAHOO?
    Need I go on?

    Without serious curation, privacy and security, No service is worth sticking with.

    There are new diseases evolving everywhere, all the time!
    Luckily - most new diseases won't infect humans at the start or perhaps ever.
    Cleaning mosquitoes of malaria has no effect on the non-malaria viruses.

    I agree with robbak above, I don't think this will work very unless they can do a really large scale test.
    I see this type of defense might turn into something that is just regularly applied (maybe after minor tweaks?) each year.

    If you were proven to be spreading false political information (like Pizzagate) among multiple shadow accounts - that violates the terms for Twitter.

    Python is the best wrapper language around C. If you want to leverage C code, then Python is great. If you want to do something else - well many other contenders are out there. The development time is less than Java, or C++.
