I think you miss the entire point of Christianity completely. The gospel of Christ has nothing to do with war. It's about serving others and pleasing God. The fact that humans have used it to wage war is a purely human deficiency. The fact that humans use it to shun others is also a human deficiency, regardless of their beliefs or natural state. That's why it gets such a bad rap. If all Christians lived more like Christ, then we wouldn't have cake stores refusing to serve any wedding. They would serve as a witness to the great works that God does in their lives. They would use that wedding as an opportunity to serve God's purpose for them. They would invite the couple to their Church to hear what God has to say to them, not what other Christians think they should do.
You can't disprove Christianity any more than you can prove the theory of relativity. It's all about observation or faith. The contradictions are there for a reason.
I agree with this sentiment. However,.docx is already a "standard" that is also compressed. In fact, if you rename it to.zip and open it up, you can view the XML formatted documents it contains.

Aspartame makes me physically ill. When Coke Zero first came out, it was aspartame-free. Then, Coke pulled a bait-and-switch and started using it. As soon as they did, Coke Zero started making me sick. I still don't think I'll try diet Pepsi, but this is a good thing. I hope Coke does the same thing.
One of the greatest scientific minds of today (Stephen Hawking) uses visualization techniques to solve very complicated problems because he can't use his hands to write. He solves very complicated math problems every day using nothing but his brain and his imagination. I think what you describe might be overkill for every problem, but _learning_ it this way is probably a good thing. They will likely develop on that and teach another way in the future.
I admire C++ developers for what they can do. I am a C# developer and I've started to learn C++ a few times over the past 15 years. Every time I try to learn C++, I just decide that there's nothing that I can use it for in my daily job (I'm a web developer), so the effort to learn it correctly is too great for the return I'd get from learning it. Sure, I could hack my way through it, but something tells me it's a language that needs to be written elegantly or it could wind up being a mess. I learned C in school, but I've never used it on the job. I'm glad there are people out there that have the chops to code in C++, even if they are creating some messes. I still can't get my head around the more advanced memory management topics, so I take the lazy man's approach and depend on the garbage collector and the IDisposable interface.
