If I wanted a commercial database product I could choose from informix, db/2, sybase, sql anywhere, mimer, frontbase, and openbase. Most of these cost significantly less then MS-SQL server and perform wonderfully on windows as an added bonus I could migrate to another operating system if I ever needed to.
Honestly I don't see any real advantages to MS-SQL server. If my needs are small to modest open source products are great. If I need more power I can buy cheaper products, If I need enterprise level stuff I wouldn't use windows anyway.

Why would anybody be pro any corporation?
I remember when I was in high school people would be pro ford vs pro chevy or pro nike vs pro addidas (I guess I am dating myself there). I used to remember making fun of those people who somehow thought that they would be "cool" if they somehow aligned themselves with one corporation or another. I guess on one level these people knew that the CEOs of that corporation didn't give a flying fuck about them but I guess they still went around with bumperstickers that said "friends don't let friends drive chevys" or some such advertising because it made them feel somehow powerful.
To this day I don't understand their motivation for being "pro" some corporation. Maybe you could fill me in. Why do you care so much about MS? Also why did you choose MS as opposed to say Baskin Robbins or Exxon or Proctor and Gamble? I mean if I was going to adopt a corporation to be "pro" for then I might choose one that made delicious ice cream over one that made software.
Also do you have a bumber sticker with a picture of calvin (from calvin and hobbes fame) pissing on a penguin or something like that? I see a lot of those too.
The people posting here will not be giving the talk. I think that the people M$ should be the ones debating the M$ mouthpiece because they are not afraid to sling mud and call them names. Instead people like Bruce Perens will act civilly and argue politely while the M$ mouthpiece calls them communists and terrorists.

MS will go around spreading FUD, calling OSS people communists and refering to open source as cancer. The OSS folks will never stoop to their level, will remain "open minded" and let them say all that. If the OSS folks ever object or call them on it then the MS rep will call them zealots and compare them to terrorists and MS will win this argument handily.
OSS advocates are between a rock and a hard place. MS has no ethics and is willing to resort to name calling and smears, if the OSS people talk back then they are labled zealots.

Although this is funny it's not out of the realm of possibilty. I mean surely one can embed a key in an encrypted message in a clever way. If you are using OTP then you'd pretty much have to generate new key for the next message anyway.

ABC, NBC, CBS combined have one and a half hour of news per day. Fox TV, CNBC, MSNBC have 24 hours a day of republicanazi propaganda. Even CNN which at least tries to be fair will never actually cover anything that would be offensive to it's billionaire republican owners.

The media is republican. It's controlled by republicans, owned by republicans and pretty much give the republicans a pass. 1) Gross negligence in failing to prevent 9-11.
2) Gross Negligence in failing to hold anybody responsible for 9-11.
3) Failing to catch Osama Bin Laden.
4) Failing to pursue Osama Bin Laden and instead attacking Iraq.
5) Calling North Korea evil and causing them to restart their nuklear weapons program.
6) Assasinating americans citizens.
7) Setting up concentration camps
8) Conspiring with energy companies to rip off the consumers.
9) Lying to the American Public during the state of the union address.
10) Severe mismanagement of the budget, bloating the federal govt (larges expansion in history), flushing the surplus down the drain and putting us back in debt. In other words gross negligence and mismanagement of our money.
11) Endangering the lives of citizens by rolling back every environment legislation known to man.
