    Quoting the parent of my comment:

    On the dual processor theme, the X Window System probably takes as much CPU scrolling your terminal window during the make as the compiler takes churning out your code. Having a processor handling the screen while another processor sends it the stuff to draw is a good idea.

    I did mean make -s, which, regardless of how much effort it really takes a processor to scroll a ter \minal window, would be solution to the parent's problem.

    Any decent email program should do that fine. Even opening a plain text file in Word will display it with proper margins.

    No, he's advocating that you don't use a coffeemaker that forces you to agree before using it that you will never even think about trying to replace the power cord. I believe it's in the Word EULA that you can't reverse engineer or otherwise modify Word.

    Debian has very strict and specific criteria on when and how a new "stable" version can be released (things like no outstanding major bug reports in any base package), and they are evidently not met at the moment.

    Not trying to start a flamewar here, but I haven't ever had Mozilla crash since about 0.9.1. IE, on the other hand, crashes occasionally and often brings down the whole machine. If you're testing Mozilla, you're probably using nightly builds too, which are often unstable.

    Linux has the best web browser ever made. Mozilla does support Quicktime, just not Quicktime with Sorenson compression. And with all that money saved on buying Windows, Belgium could easily afford a copy of Crossover for each PC.

    This would also make it much easier to unistall the software

    Use checkinstall. Run it instead of make install and it'll create a rpm | tgz | deb package to install (and uninstall, if need be) with your packaging system.

    I think they are using the oldest third of the uids but that is a guess.

    I'm #409450 (or something like that) and I've been moderating ever since this summer. I think the qualification is oldest 90% (just like metamod) and then the other things mentioned in the FAQ.
