GCC for QNX has been arround for quite some time. Specificly when i was doing beta tests on qnx 4.25 This was roughly 2 years ago. Cant find the orig. URL but here is one. http://www.teaser.fr/~jcmichot/gcc/
So you think cuz you see 1 venerability on slashdot you think its insecure. Keep inmind that you must be root to decrypt the shadow file. There are worse things to worry about than someone getting my passwords if they already have root. QSSL has a long standing track record of cleanliness, as opposed to other os's. (this encludes OpenBSD and other OS's) I think you need to read your information before you post, and not just read slashdot. okay?

I fully agree.
BTW if nobody noticed QSSL didn't even have a entry in security focus's database till last week. I bet you can/. their db backend by searching for *redhat* or *linux*.

FYI crypt() has been fixed and is non-reversing. Do your research before you post.
Redcrap has hourly patches, yet nobody argues about it when a new version is available.
Slashdot posts other usless stuff. "Blame Canada" Thats not nerds news is it? Since we are squashed into our own little BSD sub-page who cares, I ask you to keep posting this BSD related news.
The problem lies in QNX's shitty bandwidth. I had a beta license w/ them at one time... Downloading from they're beta ftp server is very slow, and often timesout.
There were a few ocassions that i got over 6k/s, but the speed soon dropped to sub 1k/s speeds.
One problem i had with ipchains, was the documentation. (IMHO) The offical how-to is geared for people who have previously used IPFWADM. I resorted to trial and error and finally gor what i needed from it.
How about a how-to that has less emphisis on the differences between the 2 and just has information reguarding IPCHAINS.
My mom always told me to eat all my food cuz there were starving kids in ethopia.(good then they can eat my left over blackeye peas then...) But Why spend $1.4billion for the very few that will be effected by it. These people can barely afford to live. Whynot spend the money to improve farming and irrigation.
If the console is in-operable. Most likely the machine is hardlocked? And needs a reset. (machine + hardlocked = how the hell are you gonna do a clean shutdown?)
Arco Pipeline had a DEC pdp-8 in service up into the mid 90's. I found tape w/ 1996 dates on it. The ID tag on this unit says its manufacture date was in 1967. Im not sure wether the PDP series would be a pc or a small mainframe.

QSSL is pretty open about its bugs.
QNX shadows the passwd file.
I read this issue in the shitter months ago.
If you read towards the end it mentions "Big Player entering FreeBSD"
In Boardwatch magazine afew months ago, JKH was said to have made mention of an unnamed big player entering the FreeBSD world.
This looks like it...

I have yet to see a script kiddie who has linux installed on his(her) system.
Most have 95.
Because they're parents wont let them install *nix.
