    Backup now? no. You'd think i would have learned... Yes, quite a few photos were scanned that i no longer have the origionals of due to a fire unfortunatly. I realize now the origional poster said the rebuild tree option didnt work because i honestly re-made the reiser file system three times over the existing reiser file system and it re-played all but the most recently copied images..

    I managed to re-create the resier file system three times over 20 years of digital photos, with no backup ofcourse. I was able to replay the journal recovering all but the most recent photos.


    I beleive i used the --rebuild-tree option. You should follow the steps in the manpage under Example.


    so in short, man reiserfsck before asking slashdot :)

    The idea behind a Wiki is that anyone can maintain it. The more people that maintaining something, (Linux) means all the more people to remove nasties. In this case the nasties just happen to be spam. As long as copies of the Wiki are kept after every N changes all should be good, just in case a spammer deletes everything...

    Wait what? Are you suggesting robots built pre-fab homes? I happen to know a local contractor who bids prices using new wood on re-models. He proceeds to use as much of the old would as possible no matter what shape its in as long as it will hold until he is gone. Only to pockect the difference in money of new wood. That's real craftmanship!

    I am very familiar with those forms. After answering about 5 questions rows looked the same and it was hard to stay in the same place so i just them sideways and filled them in in a pattern like my initials!

    Thats because your thinking about two different rfid's. This article covers passive which is pretty much harmless. The reader would need active rfid's to 'locate' items. Active generaly costs more due to complexity. The rfid in my name badge is passive and costs less than 50 cents.

    And when snow covers the antenna and the gps signal is broke? Anything that uses gps i consider FUD. Nothing like a little bit of snow, or some leaf coverage to break the tracking ability. Or in the case of some truckers a nice low bridge..

    This is an ideal situation for most vehicle drivers however it realy sucks when you have to put your bike down on its kick stand and fight dangerous traffic to push the walk button.

    Wow, my typing was realy bad. The basic idea being the money never leaves the company, the crew is happy, and all is well. Make sure to present it in a completely postive way.

    Why not bring good for both of you? If this is a tech company upgrade their workstations. This keeps the money in the company but it also boosts the moral of workers and feels like you often think about them and the long hours you put in. It would work even better if you were to suprise them with say a nice dinner, and have a bunch of new equipment at the front of the room. If you want your employees to choose have a catalog with ONLY their options avaialble to them so they can pick and choose what they want out of what you deem appropriate.

    I agree. This whole article is based around the concept of the internet turning into a giant comercialised pit. I want to know what the little guys are doing to make they're own home on the web w/o paying an arm and a leg for it. I dont think that the internet should be all about the big buisness.

    My home server has low ping times, over a terrabyte of storage, dual athlon 1.5's dedicated to me, the little guy. Not some corporate conglomeration getting pushed by some junky who is very offtopic.


    The concept of this article is which isp allows you to use them like you should be able to. The internet is becoming more and more commercialized and i want to know what fellow nerds are doing to in-expensively make they're own nich. Not what commercialzed service you think i should dump more money into.

    This is exactly the nature of my question. No more corporate conglomerate. The internet is for everyone. Why are we the people who dictate the internet getting screwed? If we want to sit naked and update dns entries we should be able to. Why should big buisness be the only one allowed to 'run' the internet

    This is simply webhosting, nothing near what i was asking about. I am more intrested what nerds are doing to support their home brew solutions.
