I've worked for technically competent and non-competent managers..
I prefer the non-competent just for the simple fact that they can't tell you how to do your job and they usually know it. Even if they don't know it you would just ignore them and do it right.
Unless he is actually supposed to make technical decisions.... then you are just screwed and you need to talk to him. Just be tactful or the workplace could get a little unfriendly
I've caught myself many times thinking while i drive how much the semi\bus next to me is worth for me in points. Also how many cars would i crash if took it out.
It seems i have thoughts like that with games that have a real world feel, not fantasy worlds like EQ.
if your a us citizen then us export laws apply to you. this is a huge set of laws aimmed at keeping you from exporting anything that could threaten the us and its property in a manner of speaking. It doesnt stop you from exporting it but there are literally thousands of guidelines to go by from it and there are laws that if you violate them you are subject to arrest, jail time and fines if found guilty.
On the lighter side, there was an earlier post that said this has already been done and it has. i cant remember the project name but it was on a few open source sites a few years ago. It even had directions on what hardware you would need and places you could get it.
If you really do want to do it just research laws that have to do with it or consult a export law expert on it. No need to get arrested for not doing the proper research.
Also if you are not a us citizen many other countries also have similar laws so check around.
And i wouldnt doubt that if you do it that your going to have certain agencies watching what you do.
If all the linux camps would stop fighting among themselves like children then it wouldnt be a question of which linux distro is more popular, it would be "What is more popular linux or windows?"
Ive had both Digital cable and Sat Tv over the past few years and i have to say i much more satisfied with my Sat TV. I have Dishnetwork and i have one of their PVR's that thing makes me so happy. I can let my wife watch anything she wants and still record all my cartoons and geek shows i want to see for later viewing. The only time my Sat TV has lost reception is when there is a really major storm, im up near DC in virginia so it doesnt really storm around here to much. As for which Sat TV provider you should use it depends on exactly which channels you want dishnetwork and direct tv both offer decent packages and there pretty close on price so you should look and see what channels you want. Me i have 150 channels plus 8 HBO channels and i pay about 75 bucks a month for 3 rooms. i get all the channels i really want cartoon network, all the history and discovery channels, nasa, and some other geek channels.
i would have to say being in 125 degree heat in full mopp gear(Chemical biological weapon protection gear) under heavy artillery fire and missle bombardment. I was setting up and maintaining field networks so the officers could sit in their air conditioned tent and look at pc screens. that was a screwed up time.
great now there will end up being a sex sex revolution or a F*k F*k revolution....
walking by the arcade...
