    or they could use the programmers that are kernel developers to work on kernel drivers for hardware that needs it.

    I do get your point, and I do indeed also see their point of view.

    However, they are allowed to hire programmers from the poorest countries, in order to reduce their costs. So why aren't I allowed to buy from the poorest countries to reduce _my_ costs?

    It seems like a double standard.

    Well that's exactly what this article is about. People will hopefully get annoyed at valve, and hopefully put pressure on valve by not buying their products.

    I think everyone understand why they did it. However many are annoyed at the double standards. They are allowed to just hire programmers from cheap countries, but we are not allowed to buy the software from cheap countries.

    I'm not sure how strong that idea is. Most (all?) of the old religions are pretty blood thirsty. They also tend to have many Gods, who bicker and fight among themselves. The whole "God of love" is fairly recent, evolutionary wise I think.

    So buy the ebook, and take it apart. I'm sure you can download the specs of the actual screen to find the connectors. Plus you can probably salvage the video controller and CPU as well.

    An electrical engineer should be able to do that for you.

    Are there such games online, with an expert commentary? I watched a couple of games, but never really got what was going on - I'm not that good. Do you know of any interesting Go games with commentary?

    I get your point, but actually there are dozens (hundreds?) of books that weren't included in the bible.

    Not all denominations use the same books in the bible even.

    Most cultures independently also wrote about dragons. Do you believe in those too?

    I didn't forget that idea - that idea was already covered by the parent I replied to. They talked about the universe having a beginning. That would cover the big bang idea.

    Wait, where did you get that the universe is infinite? It certainly isn't in any standard physics model.

    If the universe is infinite in size, then it also doesn't make sense as such to say that it is growing. Expanding perhaps.

    The assumption that the universe is a part of God seems rather strange also - it wouldn't fit in with most religions, and has no basis at all.

    Thus you cannot come to the conclusion that it is dangerous to anthropomorphize the infinite.

    Everyone eats spaghetti. For some it's long pasta stuff, but for others it's in the form of just rice and bread. Without eating spaghetti, would all starve.

    Redefining words is just stupid.

    Besides, you forgot the idea that the universe was always here, and thus was never created.

    That starts to get philisophical.

    If I name my son "Spaghetti Monster", then does that mean the Spaghetti Monster does live?

    If there happened to be a person called Jesus who lived around that time, but was nothing like the bible says, then it would fairly reasonable to say that Jesus wasn't real.

    Either way, it's evidence that religion repress science. Which was the point :)

    I don't follow what you mean by "scientific dogmatists" - are you saying that they would argue that gravity is always exactly 9.8m/s^2 ?

    I agree with what you say about generalising to all of religion - I tend to respect Buddhism for example.

    Not quite sure if blaming Islam is a bad generalising though.

    But he was also declared a heretic by the state for his 'incorrect' beliefs, and is now not allowed in any University there.
