How'd I get moderated as a troll here? I was actually quite serious about my opinion. The GPL avoids the eventual progression to non-free software that BSD-licensed software can (and most likely will end up taking). I can't even begin to name all of the BSD-licensed stuff that has in some form become a proprietary product.
Your not arguing that free is evil, are you? Free is what you make it, since you a FREE to do so... So I guess it can be, but it certainly isn't any People's Republic of China.
Technically it isn't, even though it is.:-) If something is so free, that in it's second or third generation of modifications it can become unfree, how can it be "freer" than something that will *always* be free. How much Linux code do you think is built into Windows or other proprietary OSes?
Well, according to scripture, this will happen by the hand of the Antichrist (one world government leader), who will deceive the people into thinking he is God.
I agree! Andromeda isn't necessarily terrible, but it's certainly not on par with Star Trek in quality. To compare it as such should be a violation of Federation law.;-)
I would tend to disagree with you. I thought DS9 was excellent. Save the last eight episodes, a new viewer could start watching without too much more trouble than Voyager (and why would anyone ever want to watch Voyager?).
Obviously, you haven't tried the SuPERB Linux distro - SuSE Linux 7.1. Now that's a great distro - easy to use, fast, and loaded with every package you can imagine.
SuSE Linux is the ultimate *nix desktop out there.
No offense, but I don't think that your method of user calculation is quite accurate. Close, but perhaps OpenBSD users simply don't like newsgroups... (not that I'm trying to defend the BSD's, I'm a Linux guy).
Also, btw, isn't BSDI's operating system called BSD/OS, IIRC. That might be what the "phantom OS" you refer to is...
Best,

Descration is very good so far. I'm having a hard time rationing my reading of it. ;-)
I was just going to post the same thing Micah. Gives me chills thinking about this.

People seem to be missing the most exciting part - the boot loader! See my editorial here.
What about Sisko? -Tim
After all, that KDE Kpart is suppose to offer the _same_ fuctionality, without being proprietary. And that is even better... :-)

...at least DS9 and TNG was. Just because Voyager has it's problems certainly isn't a reason to give Trek a blanket negative review.
