    I'd assumed that was a given from the beginning. However, these things *used to be* "Openable".

    Their hardware is being legally/judicially attacked by their vendor.

    I don't own a ps3 either, nor am I a gamer. However, as one who regularly blows away or dual boots OSs, I wonder how long it's going to take for other hardware vendors to go mental like this. It's an intriguing battle to watch, and I'll enjoy seeing Sony auger in in flames.

    Agreed. However, what if that door's the Security Entrance for a nuclear power plant (or worse; see Cliff Stoll's "The Cuckoo's Egg")? Isn't it a good thing that people are testing these things? Their actions from then on should dictate their future. Exploit it, or report it to the auths?

    Good testers are hard to find. Free, volunteer testers should be welcomed.

    There's so much crap going on out there, the authorities can't possibly keep up with all of it (considering their present preoccupation with other things (not going there)).

    I was a little disappointed by that. It went from "Best News Story Ever" to "Cool, but I'm not entirely sure that flight was demonstrated".

    How about if we wait to see the kid's thesis, where presumably he'll find a way to demonstrate the flapping adds something over a non-flapping flight? I hope he can do that. Cool story.

    the RHEL 2.6.18 kernel is from May of 2006. Its now September 2010.

    I've been surfing for details, but haven't found anything useful yet.

    Does RedHat roll bug/security fixes into its kernels, a la www.backports.org in Debian? My Stables are running 2.6.32, and Debian has a rep for stodginess. Huh.

    I'm not a US-ian, and where is it proved that your gov't had anything to do with this? Ah: "two reliable intelligence sources that state that Swedish intelligence was approached last month by the United States and told that Sweden must not be a safe haven for WikiLeaks."

    There's so much "left hand not knowing what the right hand's doing" potential in there, it's ridiculous.

    I approve of wikileaks, but I don't think US Intelligence (the TLAs) is dumb enough to fumble this badly. Maybe in the '50s through '80s, but not now.

    Yeah. Interest me. I'll admit spending too much time on a tetris clone a long time ago, but no, I don't do video games. I far prefer hacking perl or shell. Gaming bores me to tears.

    I don't own anything Apple made either. I don't own an mp3 player, and almost never do anything with my cellphone. I must be a deviant. Call the authorities.

    Perhaps he was like my now deceased grandfather who didn't care for an annual reminder of having been involved in the island hopping of the US at the tender age of 17 nor the glorification and magnification of violence as the answer to world problems.

    I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have enjoyed it either. War sucks for everyone involved.

    I'd still want to hug him to thank him for suffering through it. Didja ever think he might have found it exciting?
