    This is a common urban myth.
    Higher tax brackets only affect the portion of your income that is above the threshhold. You cannot end up 'losing money' by getting more money. Rule of thumb: More money is always a good thing.

    I use my cell phone as my main business number. It's a real pain when I change providers because I have to make sure everyone gets my new number. It ruins any advertising I've done with it.

    So my solution was to get a 2nd line at my house with NO features at all except CALL FORWARD to my cell phone. I don't even have a phone plugged into it. I give out the phone number on the 2nd line.
    Now I can change cell providers easily and just change the number that gets forwarded to.

    Been there. Done that.
    Ended up with horrible code that didn't work and if by some miracle it did work, it didn't do what we wanted anyway.
    Reviews and changes were like pulling teeth.
    Communication was nearly impossible.
    We all seemed to be speaking the same language. We'd get lots of "yes yes we understand perfectly". But nothing we ever said seemed to make it into the code in any recognizable fashion.

    I'll stick with paying U.S. rates, rather than pay 20%, lose the customer, never collect the money, and ruin my reputation.
    I'll never outsource overseas again.

    Hey, while we are teaching little kids fun games about real life, let't teach them about starving Bosnians.
    The kids will pretend to be raising a family, they will make pretend clothes, and build a toy house. Then while they are pretending to eat dinner we will shell their house, burn their clothes, and tell them they have lost everything in a war!

    Yay! This is great. Thanks RIAA. I have lots of ideas for educational games to teach kids about the real world.

    Your problem is your methodology. It's well known that it is dangerous to write code on a live system! You need to write new code on a dead cat, then when you have tested it, roll it out on your live cats. In case the rollout causes problems, such as furballs, hissing, vomiting, biting, or claw attacks, you need to be prepared to back your changes out and restore to a known good condition. A spare cat wouldn't be a bad idea.

    By the way, cfscript is for wimps. CFML rocks the rocking horse.

    Geez, do you have to count how many times you wash your hands? Do you make sure your right turns always equal your left turns?

    Try this:
    Leave a big cardboard box on the floor. Dump all your CDs into it. When you want to listen to music, fish around and enjoy the surprise at what you find.
    Enjoy the extra free time you have now that you are not obsessively organizing your collection.

    I have a TIVO with an extra large hard drive in it, and I use it as a library or jukebox of all my favorite movies and more importantly all of my kids favorite movies.
    Kids like to watch the same movies over and over (Shrek, Babe, etc) and it's great to have them all at your fingertips.
    TIVO grabbed them off of HBO or something (I don't even know what channels carry what anymore since I got TIVO).

    My kids have managed to scratch the hell out of every DVD in the house. So far the TIVO movies have been undamagable.

    You couldn't be more wrong. A poor man in the inner city is much more likely to be the victim of crime. The inner city needs, and has, much more police protection and crime prevention measures, and even these are still not enough to protect the inner city poor.

    The poor man doesn't pay for my protection, I pay for his.

    I know I am probably responding to a troll, but I'll bite: You claim I cannot know anything about you from your statements, yet proceed to characterize me as motivated by greed. Apparently you also know nothing about me.

    By the way, it is not against the interest of society to foster achievement by protecting the rewards of such. In the 'Harrison Bergeron' society that you promote we end up with the bankrupt Soviet Union where average people can't get basic goods, and yet the rich are still rich.

    So stop looking for handouts or "revenge" against success.
