    The attack on Huawei is probably a factor too. Aside from Foxconn not wanting to risk having too many valuable assets in the US where the US government can get at them, and the danger that tariffs make it impossible to supply the plant, the Chinese government likely told them to reconsider as a form of retaliation.

    The Huawei stuff is much more recent than the supposed Foxconn deal. Yes it probably played a part late in the game, but the fact is that the people who know about this stuff were saying it was very very unlikely to ever happen. And whaddya know, they were right.

    I read both of the articles, but neither one mentioned the only thing I'm interested in: how much will this 1TB chip cost?

    Cards with 400GB to 500GB of storage are anywhere from $130 up to $250 give or take, so how much is a 1TB card going to cost?

    Yes, Trump got played like a baby by Foxconn. They roped him like a baby calf and he was more than happy to buy their ridiculous claims. Anyone who was watching this knew that the likelihood of Foxconn building a huge plant in Wisconsin was near zero.

    To all you Wisconsin voters who believed Trump's blather and his insane, over-the-top promises, sorry, but you got exactly what you voted for: a giant bag of bullshit.

    Keep in mind that many of these were created solely to harvest user data.

    Take GOOG-411 for example- the service was provided for free with no ads or any other revenue source because Google only wanted callers for their phonemes. The service was designed as a way to anonymously collect vocal samples from a large sample of North American callers in order to better train their speech recognition tools.

    I used to have an S5 til just a few months ago, and it was a good phone. However, I upgraded to an LG V20 for under $200 bucks and it's a better phone. USB C charging and a better battery help, and it still has a removable battery, sd card slot, and IR blaster like the S5 did.

    Thanks for the suggestion- it sounds like a good phone and it'll probably be what I get after my S5 dies.

    I really like having an IR blaster- turning off obnoxious TVs in bars and restaurants is a hobby of mine. :)

    Name one android device, and type of device that is a POS that is under $500. You can't.

    I can.

    Look at the Galaxy S5 or S5 Active. It's around $200 and does 99% of what the vast majority of users need to do.

    Replaceable battery, headphone jack IR output, micro SD slot, IP68 rated, happily charges off of any micro-usb cable, nice display...etc etc.
