AppleMailServer still sucks. I hope they stick a GUI on Postfix/courier or something.;)
Our OS X Server here got Postfix & Courier-IMAP installed right out of the box. Much easier to add SpamAssassin/procmail/etc and I don't have to deal with the AppleMail Server big-phat-file way of doing things.
According to stats I heard while watching Animal Planet, RATS cause over $19 BILLION dollars in damage every year. Actual damage. From what I've read, software piracy costs the industry a heck of a lot less money.
The BSA is after the wrong "filthy rats" this time.
I did a contract with Volt before. That company is basically resume stain. They did absolutely *nothing* to help me find another job after my contract ran out. Not a damn thing.
Contracting sucks. It really does. Companies like Spherion and Volt wind up being sweatshop employers. Ugh.
Out of 2774 emails, 2219 were SPAM. The machine has SpamAssassin, is using several RBL lists, and pretty tight Postfix anti-UCE settings. Spam is *still* getting through.
At $500 a message? Great. I can pay a lot of bills even if I win against 2 spammers a month. I don't care if they're relaying it through an open relay somewhere. Most of them are hawking a porno website, and that cashflow has to go *somewhere*
My now unemployed ass (Fuck you, Spherion!) has *plenty* of time to chase spammers down. Geez, 4 payments a month, and I'm beating out my old salary.
Sounds worth it to me. It should also be $500 for each message that claims I "opted in" - don't want to pay? PROVE that I opted in. SHOW ME that I opted in and you *verified* my opt-in. Lying ass spammers.
OpenTV uad an office in Mountain View for a while, right down the street from Netscape. I used to peek in the window on my way home but I never actually saw anyone IN there, just a bunch of TV screens showing various programming. I always thought that it must have been a dot-com front for drugs or something. Interesting to see that it's an actual company.:P
(Note: For those of you that haven't seen the movie, do NOT mod this down. For those of you that have and were paying attention, you'll know what I'm talking about.)

Those things look nothing like the BART cars. First off, BART trains are 3-10 cars, and you can move between cars if you like, and only a couple seats are back against the wall (near the doors, for seniors & disabled folks)
And BART knew better than to use that ungodly red color. What is it with companies in Texas using awful paint schemes? Southwest Airlines is next on the list.. "Hey, we got a bunch of this brownish paint.. really cheap!";)
http://www.stratorgy.com... as long as everyone else is posting d2 sites they know of.;)..few people talking about the update there too. Just in case anyone cares.
If they had to pay to send email, they could just write it off as a business expense. So they'd still get to spam, AND get a nice tax write off in the process.
Yeah! Great plan!
I still vote that we have hunting licenses include spammers.

"Atrivo" is right down the street from me. Maybe I can go sell this guy a bridge or something to go along with his /16 ;)
AT&T Wireless gives you free incoming text messages (unlimited)
I'm having trouble even remembering Diablo I! ;)
I bought Diablo II the day it was available for the PC - the CDs were hybrid Mac/Windows CDs.
The *game* was available - seems that Blizzard held back in the *installer* for ages.
That pissed me (and a lot of others) off.
The Visitors had a little trouble finding a Starbucks on Pluto, but you can't swing a dead cat on this planet without hitting one.
C'mon. Visitors need their morning venti latte goodness too. Selfish human!

Wow, that's pretty.. interesting.

you can also make a pretty cool go-kart out of an old lawnmower and an old washing machine. :)

Dear SCO,
Up yours, smeghead!
Sincerely,

This is a positive change rather than seeing everything for Red Hat or SuSE only.
Seeing other distributions pop up is a good thing.

Did you at least get some free movie tickets?
when will other idiots learn that sometimes when they post, "2 other mirrors" were NOT listed.
Asshole.
"I have several GNU/Linix machines"
Huh? What distro is that? Another one? I didn't see it on distrowatch.com.. sigh, oh well..
spamhaus.org really should have learned from the LAST time a /.'ing smacked them off the internet. Geez!
:)
Hopefully someone mirrored it.
It was *hardly* a "flame" at all.
:P
It's an ugly brown paint. That's just an observation.
Granted, they've repainted a lot of aircraft in more lively colors these days.
American Airlines tried to save money by *not* painting much on their aircraft. Paint is heavy.
Too bad they blew billions doing other silly things..

I actually had a *Rackspace employee* spam me. Here is the story.
They eventually wrote back and said "Sorry." The entire event was rather entertaining, to say the least. heh.
And in the Year 2000, we'll have flying cars!
If they had to pay to send email, they could just write it off as a business expense. So they'd still get to spam, AND get a nice tax write off in the process.

I belive that you're thinking of Netsaint...aren't you?
:-)
It's now called Nagios
Gee, I guess he missed a security patch or two along the way, eh?
