The solution as I see it is for the satellite radios to share content the way cable companies can. You don't have to choose between The Discovery Channel and ESPN on cable. But I can't have Stern and baseball without getting both XM and SIRIUS.
For some reason satellite radio providers are in charge of the content and the distribution. I don' t understand the underlying difference in the markets.

Mail.app does arrange message into a thread if you select that in the preferences. I believe it is turned off by default.
I recently stopped using Mail.app to retrieve my e-mail from Gmail via the free POP3 access. I really felt that Google's Gmail did a better job threading and organizing my mail than I could do on my own.
The BEST thing about gmail is the ARCHIVE BUTTON. I can push messages aside knowing I'll be able to find them with the search later.
That's unfornunate what happened to your friend's eMac.
In my case, I purchased a iMac G5 and 14 months later the capicators on the MB went bad. Since I didn't purchase AppleCare I was expecting the worst. However, Apple new of the problem with my particular model and offered an additional year of warranty coverage for this issue. The "genius" and other staff at the Apple Store couldn't have been more helpful in getting my Mac fixed including the hard drive that got taken down along with the MB.
What I don't get is why some stories have 3 inline headlines and then other stories don't have any!? Is there some method to how they are dispersed among the main front page stories?
I would post the inline headlines along with other stories on the mainpage in the same section. You could add the headlines to the main page stories based on the time they were submitted... maybe limiting the number of headlines to 2 so things don't get out of hand.
If TFA is correct, and Apple is phasing the mac-mini in next year and the PowerMacs in 2007... then the bigger issue is what kind of emulation technology will they have to support two achitectures completely simultaneously??
Could they update and XCode to be released next Jan. in San Fran. that would compile to both architectures simultaneously.
I can almost hear Steve Balmer juming up and down screaming.... "Devlopers, Developers, Developers"
Somehow Steve Jobs will have to keep developers happy.
Whatever happened to the "Universal Service Fund" we pay for on our phone bills? Isn't that supposed to cover the cost of running phone lines to people who choose to live in the middle of nowhere?

.... not an issue with Microsoft's price.
Force MS to change their price? That is completely ridiculous in the USA where capitalism and free markets are central to all business.
If MS is forcing the OEM's to include Vista with each PC then there would be actionable monopolistic behavior.
With the growing success of Apple and linux it is hard to argue there is sufficient competition for MS's Vista.
Any argument for a monopoly must center around the MS OEM "tax" and lack of OS choice on that level.

You are correct sir,
I just resurrected an old Yahoo account to see what all the fuss is about. After I sent an e-mail almost the whole screen turned into a NetFlix ad!
The relevant and subtle Google ads are the best part of G-mail.
Tone it down Yahoo. No thanks for now.

Lesson learned: purchase the AppleCare.

Noz.
I believe the article said minis in 06 and powermacs in 07... that means they'll be supporting two platforms for several years to come.
If it happens there might be a OS 11.0 before 10.5

You're not taking into account the fact that Toyota and Honda are both losing money on their hybrid cars.
The cars serve them two purposes:
1. They get a lot of rather cheap press because everyone thinks they are the greenest and friendliest companies.
2. They create momentum for their particular hybrid technology which they will try to sell to other car manufacturers to make more $$$.

no more like, will SBC continue charging me for a phone line I don't want just so I can have DSL?
