  1. Re:Does anybody read the articles anymore?? on Inability to Type Not a Disability · · Score: 1

No, didn't you know that were all in a huge race to have the highest karma post - so we can shamelessly plug our online interests? I read them though...

  2. Could be another scam thwarted... on Inability to Type Not a Disability · · Score: 1

The 9th Circuit Court has ruled that not being able to type does not give one protection/privilege under the Americans with Disabilities Act(ADA).

Like so many people out these always looking for a free dollar, I'm sure that there are more pressing issues being decided, such as:

not having the skill to type vs. not being physically able to type.

I personally think its more fair if it was a physical disability, but even in that case - why should anyone claim any expenses for using a computer? Judging how social services continues to be abused by people with nothing better to do than surf the web all day, giving these people more privileges, gives them the wrong idea.

  3. DSL in Kanada by Telcos is great! on Letting The Market Choose Decent Broadband · · Score: 1

I use MTS Internet for my DSL services.

One thing I have noticed is that they are stable.

I've been constantly reading about ThisDSL Co. and ThatDSL Co., being bought out, or going out of business in the states at a fairly regular pace. Granted, the major Telcos (Stentor) in Canada more or less have the monopoly on DSL services, but then again, were paying about $40.00/month CDN, with no fears of going offline. Network has been stable, service efficient, customer service satisfactory.

For myself, going with a telco for service is the best buy there is, keep cable in the market to keep costs low/competition high. Must be a different world on the other side of the 49th... NexesBBS MajorMUD Realm: http://nexesbbs.dynip.com

  4. What bothers me is.... on You Are What You Click · · Score: 1

Is the fact that every marketing firm out there trying to make a buck, is using the internet userbase as a test group to market new methods to spam us. Great, we use more tabs as guys, and women use the mouse more? Does that mean weight loss programs will target guys more since we only hit a key versus women using their entire hand and therefore burn more carlories getting the same information? Its annoying, and an invasion of privacy, I mean do marketers have this kind of power when you eat out somewhere, or do they check whether you pick up the fork or knife first?

  5. Palm In Trouble? on Palm In Trouble? · · Score: 1

Anyone catch CMDRTACO mispelling? Doesn't Linux have any spell-checkers? Just kidding, but I thought with such a high profile website, that I read regularly, that he would at least spellcheck his posts, but then again if *I* was in his position, with such a website, Id keep to the true and blue of "Hey, we tell it like it is, and since this is such late breaking news, the brain didn't communicate to the fingers fast enough." Now about the PALM issue: Personally, since I don't have any real use in the real world for such a product, it seems that all handhelds don't rate as well as a home based system, Yes, granted, I can see my e-mail, but take a half an hour to reply to it using those little keys? No. And *IF* I actually did reply to it? what would it say? Well lets take a look: "E-mail from someone@somewhere.com, Hey how are you doing.. (blah blah blah) Get back to me!" - Reply: "HI, im using my Palm right now, Ill get back to you later, in a meeting, or at the bar drinking right now, and I can't spell right.." SO hence, for ALOT of real world applications, handhelds don't hold water to the tried and true. Discuss...
