Sorry this is harsh, but... if people are too stupid to understand what an alpha release is, or a "nightly build", then they shouldn't be using it in the first place! i.e. it's not for the point-and-click community, it's meant as an invitation for developers to sample their work and possibly invite others onboard to contribute code.

I wish I had mod points; Both your comments are well-stated and you seem to be the only mature sensible poster who knows what he's talking about, and not just spitting out swear words without substance.
I've been a loyal Netscape follower and then following Mozilla since they released the source, and I've contributed with bug reports and test cases from the early days of the milestone releases. I switched from using Netscape to Mozilla, even during the unstable and buggy release period. However, I don't remember Phoenix being terribly crashy or alpha, that was prior to Phoenix was created as a subset of the entire Mozilla-suite (which included composer / irc chat / email / etc).
Nonetheless, you're right about everything else, especially the enormous complexity of modern-day browsers and how the complexity is only increasing. I think it wouldn't be too outrageous to say that browsers are becoming like operating systems in their own right - in terms of complexity (not necessarily hardware interaction).
And it annoys me hugely when people compare Firefox to Chrome or even Safari, both of which are supported by multi-billion dollar corporate empires, while Firefox is supported by a tiny group of people under a non-profit charity and with only a miniscule of funding.
Yes, people have a right to complain to some extent, but at the same time, need to be grateful and realise who Mozilla is, and how much they've done for us and the open web and pushing everyone else to closely follow the standards!
Anytime google is involved, they're getting something out of it. But I may just be wrong, and google is funding this out of the goodness of their corporate hearts;)
But when I think about Google's Fiber, Wifi, DNS, etc, it's obvious there's no stopping them in the lengths they go to, to further invade and learn about individuals, especially those that don't use any google products and manage to some-what evade their tracking using adblock, etc.
The headline should read that, because that's exactly what this project is all about.
NSA's Google can't encourage enough people to send them their personal details by utilising various Google spyware like android/chrome/mail/search/etc, so they had to forcefully enter the market and push themselves down peoples throat, whether people like it or not.
What I find amazing, and it's proven time and time again is that atheists not only don't appear to have a heart of love, understanding, and co-operation, and infact they have a heart full of rage and hate for some reason which shows in their vulgar speech; but also atheists are unable to examine evidence, unable to reason, and unable to use their sense of intellect and logic by examining history.
Of course, Atheists aren't the only ones guilty, but ignorant people of all faiths, including Muslims, who's heart is deaf, dumb, and blind, and unable to use their sense of reason and logic.
No matter how many times it's explained from an anthropological and historical view, and examining the normal age of marriage even only 100 or 200 years ago, some people just can't escape their localised bubble.
Wikipedia is the worst possible place for Islamic knowledge, and all articles I've encountered seem to be written by people of lust and those who want to damage society and Islam.
"Misyar" marriage is where a man may give up some of his rights in a marriage, or more commonly, a wife may give up some of her rights (such as a right to her own home).
Did you never think why the enemies of Islam at the time didn't rise up against this?? Surely this would have been the talk of the entire nation, not only the enemies (some of the Jews, especially who lived in Medina), and the pagans in Makkah, but even his disciples would have doubted the Prophet.
In Islam, a person becomes accountable to God and a full adult after puberty.
"And We sent not before you (as Messengers) any but men, whom We inspired from among the people of townships. Have they not travelled through the earth and seen what was the end of those who were before them? And verily, the home of the Hereafter is the best for those who fear God and obey Him (by abstaining from sins and evil deeds, and by performing righteous good deeds). Do you not then understand?"
Wow, the amount of ignorance in this comment; I wasn't going to reply as it's clear you have a distortion field which stops you from reading and examining evidence from anyone other than Islamaphobes and people with huge amount of hate in their heart.
And it's clear you haven't read the Qur'aan, not even the second chapter; otherwise you would know that of course, the early Muslims and the pagans used to pray and prostrate towards the direction ("qibla") of Jerusalem. God later abrogated that, just like alcohol was disallowed slowly, along with abolishment of slavery, and the sick pagan practice of burying their daughters alive, prostitution, etc, etc.
God sent the last Prophet to free humanity from the shackles of their mind and enslavery and worshipping of false deities, and freed women at a time when they were purely for sexual enjoyment and treated as objects. And Islam gave rights to women which the west only introduced since the 1900's, including a right to vote and have their voice heard, and the right to own their own house, business, money, etc.
What's rarely discussed is how the entire Arabian peninsula changed as a result of the Prophet and his disciples, and the amount of peace that spread throughout the lands and neighbouring nations. And prior to the "Geneva convention", the Islamic Prophet introduced the fair treatment and peace towards even war prisoners. In fact, he housed one of the war prisoners in his own house in Medina... has there ever been a king or president who has taken a prisoner in his own home?!
The Arabs at the time were following fragments of the teachings of Prophet Abraham, but most of it was lost and people deviated towards worshipping men and stones.
Our Prophet informed us that slowly, after a warner (prophet) is sent to a nation, it takes around 10 generations before people again deviate and start worshipping objects and people.
Otherwise, all Prophets preached the same message of worshipping One God alone, as He's the Only entity worthy of worship; and God provides in this life to even those who kill people and belittle God from their tongue. But there will come a time when they will be held accountable.
"Every soul will taste death, and you will only be given your [full] compensation on the Day of Resurrection. So he who is drawn away from the Fire and admitted to Paradise has attained [his desire]. And what is the life of this world except the enjoyment of delusion."
"And [mention] when Abraham said, "My Lord, make this (Makkah) a secure city and provide its people with fruits - whoever of them believes in Allah and the Last Day." [ Allah ] said. "And whoever disbelieves - I will grant him enjoyment for a little; then I will force him to the punishment of the Fire, and wretched is the destination.""
With regards to the Prophet marrying Aisha (by the permission of her father, mother, and Aisha herself), this has been explainedcountlesstimes. Did you never think why the enemies of Islam at the time didn't rise up against this?? Surely this would have been the talk of the entire nation, not only the enemies (some of the Jews, especially who lived in Medina), and the pagans in Makkah, but even his disciples would have doubted the Prophet.

"Mutah" is not permitted in Islam, not sure where you got that from. In fact it was banned by Prophet Muhammad, after the lewdness that the pagans and idol/people worshippers used to spread. It's only the Shia (minority) sect which allow this.
In Islam, God has permitted and even encouraged sex between a husband and wife to increase love and bond within a matrimonial trust, just like Christianity and Judaism. And yes, sex outside of marriage is a very serious and sick sin as it potentially destroys not only families, but an entire society due to illegitimate children. And children who have no father and mothers are generally worse off in education, health, and society; especially children without father-figures.
Where Islam differs is that God has placed a ban on men to only have ONE wife. However, as God knows the nature of men and their temptations, God has however permitted more than one wife ONLY in the condition he can bear the financial responsibility and offer safety and equal time to both wives. i.e. to curb prostitution and mistresses; and to help divorced/widowed women (especially with children) who find it difficult to find a husband, etc.
I agree; however, what about Chromium or SRWare Iron or even Vivaldi/Opera?
I only use Firefox anyway, as I doubt anyone has extensively analysed Chromium source code in order to search for any hidden Google tracking mechanisms or reporting techniques. And even if the source appears to be clean, Google aren't stupid, their trackers are over most websites, and through js obfuscation and ajaxing encrypted data back to Google, they may be able to trigger various reporting elements in Chromium to extract user data and uniquely fingerprint each installation.
I know, sounds like paranoia and tinfoil hat stuff, but considering how evil Google is, I wouldn't put it past them.
Next thing you'll complain about is how your Xeon is more powerful than a ARM Cortex! Oh, and while in the thread, don't forget to compare a browser developed by a multi-billion dollar corporate spying empire to one developed by a miniscule non-profit chartable organisation; like so many others have the audacity to do so here.
You need to remember that Mozilla is a non-profit charitable organisation which is a miniscule mouse compared to its competition, especially from one of the world's biggest multi-billion dollar spying corp empire Google (who are coincidentally, the biggest bribers ("lobbyist") to the US Government).
Since no one ever donates to Mozilla, how else are their full-time staff and devs supposed to live in a world run by money?!
But you do make a good last point however, which is that since they can't appeal to the masses like the billions Google spends on Chrome adverts, Mozilla could however go down a different direction. But to be fair to Mozilla, they are trying to become more privacy focused, but again, they can only do so much because that's like going against the hand that feeds them!
Chill out troll, you're going to have an aneurysm.
caniuse.com is a pretty rubbish place to get stats, here, go direct to the source instead: http://gs.statcounter.com/
I'd like to remind you, Firefox is a non-profit charitable organisation with a miniscule amount of funding for how much they have contributed to the open web and privacy! Remember, they championed web standards compliance and the importance of the W3C and accessibility guidelines at a time when Microsoft wanted to make the web into a proprietary model, a bit like what Google is trying to do now.
And now Mozilla along with Opera are the ones who are championing the latest web standards, especially HTML5, CSS3 and 4, and especially Javascript (EMCAScript) upon which the entire web is built.
I shouldn't need to remind you that Google is a multi-billion dollar spying corp empire who'spumpedanenormousamountofmarketing power into their reskinned Apple Safari (AppleWebKit) rip-off, and you're comparing goliath to david's little baby kid?!
What I also find amazing is that Microsoft were heavily fined for bundling IE into Windows, but when Google advertises their browser all over Google.com (the window to the web for most people), and bundles Chrome into Android OS or their laptop OS, that's perfectly fine! Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that Google is one of the biggest bribers... errr, I mean, "lobbyist" to the US Government?
Generally, all "Gecko" browsers are clubbed together into Firefox stats, as far as I know.
I really don't understand why people use Pale Moon when it offers nothing over Firefox?! If you really love the old look of the browser, you can simply get the Classic Theme Restorer extension and customise the browser UI as much as you want (which I also use).
Wow, what an amazingly ignorant comment. Where do I start?!
I was going to write a long reply, but I don't think anyone is even reading this post any more, so I won't bother wasting my time.

erm, Mozilla championed (along with Opera) the development of the latest web standards, including HTML5, CSS3, and especially Javascript (EMCAScript) which Google so heavily rely upon but never give back to the community. Secondly, they woke up everyone to the evil tactics of Microsoft to make the web into a proprietary standard (same thing Google is now trying to do after ripping-off the code for Apple's Safari). And Mozilla championed and helped to standard the web and raise awareness of W3C as well as Accessibility standards and developing for all browsers, not just Internet Explorer.
With regards to the UI, it was developed after much research and feedback from users and how they use their browser. Yes, there's many things I don't like about Australis (the new browser UI), so that's why there's a great extension (Classic Theme) to customise the browser to however you want.
Amazing how idiotic some people are and how few brain cells they have... or just amazingly ignorant unable to see past their own nose.

... which is a philosophy any developer working in a corporate environment should take to heart, especially readability, simplicity, and maintainability!
Whereas, the reason javascript is still somewhat of a joke is because of it's past and starting as a scripting/"dhtml" language; and thus the reason why any mature/wise developer with over 10 years of experience can't take crud like AngularJS and Node.js seriously, along with countless other frameworks released monthly for the kiddy hipster. i.e. the language, and especially frameworks, need time to mature before being adopted in enterprise and large corporate environments where it needs to scale while maintaining performance.
In the grand scheme of things, javascript is still a very very young language, especially since ajax and ES5/6 and JIT compilation came along.
It's what has essentially destroyed Linux from being accepted as a desktop platform for the masses - i.e. in-fighting and a million developers each working on a million different dists rather than combining their efforts under one umbrella company led by good leadership (Ubuntu for this reason is more successful than all other dists).
No, it's not an "early release".

You don't need an older OS to stop the spyware (Chrome) auto-updating.
In Windows, just disable the service.
Not sure if stupidity comes naturally to you, but comparing a $950 server cpu to a budget $100 desktop cpu is a little moronic to say the least.

... which is a philosophy any developer working in a corporate environment should take to heart, especially readability, simplicity, and maintainability!
Whereas, the reason javascript is still somewhat of a joke is because of it's past and starting as a scripting/"dhtml" language;
and thus the reason why any mature/wise developer with over 10 years of experience can't take crud like AngularJS and Node.js seriously, along with countless other frameworks released monthly for the kiddy hipster.
i.e. the language, and especially frameworks, need time to mature before being adopted in enterprise and large corporate environments where it needs to scale while maintaining performance.
In the grand scheme of things, javascript is still a very very young language, especially since ajax and ES5/6 and JIT compilation came along.
Forking is not the answer.
It's what has essentially destroyed Linux from being accepted as a desktop platform for the masses - i.e. in-fighting and a million developers each working on a million different dists rather than combining their efforts under one umbrella company led by good leadership (Ubuntu for this reason is more successful than all other dists).
