    Nobody thought the provincial exception would get used, but then Quebec turned crazy and decided that freedom of speech is less important than making sure street meat carts don't offer "Le Hot Dog" (I'm guessing it's called "Chien Chaud" but sweaty dogs don't make for appetizing advertising).

    To be more precise, it's l'Office québécois de la langue française which turned crazy.

    I wonder if Canada is accepting the few remaining intelligent, informed Americans as refugees. :-) I've only half-considered moving -- I work for a multinational and could pretty easily get a European work visa through the company.

    I don't know much about visas but I'm pretty sure that Canada isn't part of Europe.

    I tried to switch to the Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator, however two things prevented me from choosing this option:

    1. As you say, it requires cellular service. For devices that can communicate directly with servers via Wi-Fi, this is a stupid design decision.

    2. This option requires you to use the Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator every time you log in, vs the email option which is only required if you log in from a new system or a new location.
