...even though I was long a devoted Apple user (and still think that it's a really nice system for the end-user), I'm dubious about it as an environment for developers. When I was working on the Mac they would repeatedly come up with this fancy new tech, get most of the developers to buy their expensive tools, and then drop the project.
That may have been the case in the past, but Apple's OSX developer tools are entirely free (of charge), and built on top of free (as in speech) tools such as gcc. And IMNSHO, Cocoa/Project Builder/Interface Builder makes for a very nice dev environment.
I'd have to say that's one of the greatest ways to tweak OS X that I've found. I'm using an original iMac on a broadband connection (college campus serviced by multiple DS3 lines -- it's great) and huge/. comments pages show up as fast as iCab can render them. BTW, I have found iCab to be dramatically faster than any other browser on OS X, and trust me, I've tried them all. Maybe it's just my combination of older hardware and a fast connection, but iCab smokes every other browser out there.
Hemp can be used to replace wood pulp paper, and we're cutting down our planet's forests at a suicidal rate. Hemp can be used as a domestically produced, renewable fuel, and yet we fight wars over foreign oil and pollute the atmosphere with it.
I agree with your overall point that hemp could be an excellent material for lots of products. However, by what logic are trees not a renewable resource but hemp is?
Even normal windows with no content scaling would be more usable if we could hold a key and get a panning-type movement feature for windows with more content than screen space. I know plenty of applications do this, but this should be a base feature of the file management tools as well.
I'm not sure if this is what you mean, but the Mac OS (at least version 9, not sure about 10) lets you hold down the command key and drag the content around in a Finder window. Kinda handy sometimes.
You've got my vote.

If you are talking about this they are claiming 200MB/sec on RAID 5.
PB already has autocomplete. It doesn't seem to be well documented, but try pressing .
