I would like to see this done with cable tv. Instead of cable companies trying to charge for each and every line and or address, partner up with your neighbors and split every payed cable at least 4 ways (tv's). Same principle to maximize bandwith and in the end the consumer's cost is then actually reasonable.

What a crock. I just bought a windows 7 tablet with all that jazz. I configured it to boot into legacy mode and at present have no need for any of it's advanced capabilities. Y'all should be more worried about MS trying to shove 10 up your ass than worrying about the advanced features of uefi.

The only issue I have with the 5GHz range is that once it is encrypted, it drops down to the 2.4GHz speed. So, essentially to even get close to a rated 5GHz speed I'd have to run a vpn or stay completely unencrypted. I fu and bought an rt-n66u. Should have bought the ac but it was $$. Plus on fios, verizon does not allow for bridging (both theirs and mine use 192.168.1.1) nor can I use my motorola surfboard either as fios is a different protocol.

I just snapped up a yubikey 4 nano and was curious if anyone understands them or more specifically if using a yubikey will give one "bombproof" secure logins etc.? With these as they are so poorly protected here on the interwebs and dont forget to toss in the cellular carriers, which are nothing more than glorified internet servers, it seems just a matter of time until ALL your most secret passwords are compromised. Something I do not look forward to. I installed the LastPass addon because it said it was secure but then immediately noticed a check box to enable free credit monitoring. BS on that. I realize they were bought up by logmein but now I know they were more likely bought out as in compromised. Wtf does a password mgr have a fuck to do with managing much less monitoring my credit report. Something any fuckwad has always been able to do for free?

Tbqh, I have entertained the idea of running windows offline for quite some time now. I run a windows 7 pro desktop and a windows 7 pro tablet. On both I use Bleachbit, PrivaZer, & run Yamicsofts Windows7 Mgr, using Tinywall as a windows fw gui. Yamicsoft allows you to see the tasks created that send data back and/or the one that silently sets you up for an unwanted OS update. I delete them all. As for encryption, gpg4win or the like is useful to me. Full disk is not necessary atm and in fact the only thing I encrypt is obviously my password manager. I will be investing in a couple of Yubikeys before spring to get two factor up and running system wide, incl. for my phone. Windows 10 is too full of holes, driver and or sound problems, and clearly cannot be trusted. As well, unless they can claim it is significantly faster than 7, which it isn't, It is absolutely useless to me unfortunately.
